Damn, I'm more impressed with John's buck with a bow! Strong work! Thanks fold. That was my first bow buck. You suck LOL! All kidding aside, fine deer! I saw pics of it last year that were viral. Made me jealous! After seeing this I believe I will think twice if I every shoot a deer of that caliber here in AL. I don't know the hunter, but I know a lot of people who hunt in that area. Some of them, who have jobs similar to this fellow, have a reputation for bending the rules. I can see that's where the suspicion comes from. Why those employers haven’t taken charge and put a stop to it is beyond me. It's a wonder someone hasn't been shot by now. But most of those guys are law abiding hunters and follow the rules, and are dang fine people! I've had a lot of people ask me if I thought it was legal and I feel its my responsibility as a hunter to stand up for the guy unless someone comes forward with hard proof that it wasn't.

WOW didn't know mine went viral. 15 min of fame. Was mine debated like this and I didn't hear about it? But other than what i have already stated i do not have any proof for legal/illegal accusations. I am just getting different stories now and they don't match pictures I have been seeing!

I got a neighbor that has killed some really good bucks. I'm talking 120 to 140 class bucks and I know for a fact that he killed them at night. He kills several bucks a year but all the big boys he has killed he has killed at night. He don't go out driving around, he walks out of his house and shines his spotlight across the field in his back yard. In my opinion he thinks he is a great hunter because he has killed these big bucks but of all the big bucks he has killed he has killed them all at night. It is a lot easier to see the big ones with a spot light than in the daylight. That sure ain't hunting if you ask me. I feel your pain jon. I have the same situation where I hunt. The GW and everyone else knows what he is doing but just cant catch him. Someday he will get his.

A few years ago my boy and the game warden's boy played on the same baseball team. Well the game warden got to asking me a lot of questions about this guy and I didn't feel it was my place to rat him out. We the game warden told me I might as well tell him because the man's brother has done told him everything. I told the game warden that if he done knew everything then he needed to go catch him. I mean this guy will kill a big buck and come by the house and say hey look what I got last night. Talk about improving your chances of killing a good buck, just go shine a spotlight. Tis guy will even hunt on Ito febuary. Darndest thing I have ever seen.

Let's see.....this deer was shot in the afternoon and found the next day....ok
there's a night picture of a fresh kill with him in street clothes....then theres a day picture of a deer that has already begun to swell (happens a few hours after death) with him in camo...
So with this situation, I am guessing the deer was either shot in the afternoon, found the next day and pics taken...then on the way to the taxidermist that night, it went all "Tommy Boy" on us and arose from the dead, and was killed again, and thats where the fresh kill pics at night come from......OR, the guys a poacher......im torn at what to believe!

I'm not one to jump to conclusions one way or another about things like this, but there is enough skepticism being brought up to make you wonder. The only hard evidence we have to go on is the pictures. The nighttime picture seems to be from a cell phone, so the quality isn't great. The first thing that stands out to me is that in the nighttime picture, the deer's body is angled towards the camera and his head is twisted around to face the camera. If the deer was shot at night and found the next morning and the nighttime picture was taken the night after that, then the deer had been dead for over 24 hours. Seems to me that with rigor mortis all set in, you wouldn't be able to twist a deer's head back around like that because he would be too stiff, especially a buck with as big of a neck as that. Comparing the pictures, the deer does seem to have been dead longer in the day time picture, but who knows. I wish the quality of the night picture was better and showed more of the deer.
