Snake boots always seem too stiff for me. They tend to rub a blister the size of a silver dollar if you walk a lot in them. Regular leather work boots work for me. I'll take the chance that they can't bite through the leather and not deal with sore feet all season.

Ok we'll it took a few extra days , but I got my danner jackel GTX or whatever snake boots . Let me just say I'm highly disappointed . I really hoped they would be great but they kill my ankles . There's like a hard quarter sized spot that's right on a bone in my ankle .I will be trying something else, Preferably a slip on. Either mucks or the boa from cabelas .

I dont believe in snake boots, if I seen a big rattler I just pick that sucker up behind the head, give him a good talkin to and toss em off the trail.

I have a pair, have hunted in them 2 years and they have done great. They are super light feel like running shoes compared to my lacrosse alphaburleys the ones I have are goretex and my feet have stayed dry. I have not tested them on snakes though...

Good to hear. My Lacrosse Strikers are worn out after 8 years so I may get a pair. Thanks for the input.

Russell moccasin with turtle skin. I had to take out a loan for them 6-7 years ago but they are unbelievable.

I got them for $350 ish at the nwtf convention in Nashville 6-7 years ago. I keep sno seal on the leather and seams and they do not leak at all. They are best boots I've ever owned no question.

Are they comfortable enough for $230??

Yes they are! Very light and comfortable! They did rub a spot on the outside of my ankle but I put a band aid over it and wore them with thick socks a couple days and that took care of the problem.

Gonna be a pair of Lowa Zephyr GTX's for me this season. Superlite and seem to be really well made boots. Time will tell about the durability but I really like them so far

I had some Danner Jackels on my porch when I got home. I wear 11-1/2 but the left one was so small on my foot I couldn't walk in it. I couldn't even get my foot in the right one WTH?
Anybody know store where I can buy snake boots? I'm through with mail order footwear.
