The spot is ran over with poachers, but it's mostly the same ones. There have been 3 bucks that I know of killed in the same area scoring over 150". I've seen all 3 and put my hands on one. In brookwood everyone that hunts pretty much knows about this.

I was referring to him not wanting to send the pictures to Hellfighter for fear it would reveal the location it was killed.

This is true. I'm assuming your talking about the jim walter property that borders 216 and the mine road, if so this is true. I don't if this buck was killed there or not but I am familiar with the property you are talking about, Since I've moved I dont pass this place anymore and don't talk to many people from the area anymore but you will always see where people have pulled out of there with mud on tires and see trucks go by slow. Everyone that hunts in the area knows about the spot. I have seen some HUGE deer on the side of the road there and have heard the same storys about so and so's got another 160 inch deer there, and so and so's (not tylers) deer was killed off the double yellow lines beside the property. As for this deer I haven't heard the story behind it. I think most people are assuming it came off the walter energy property because of some of the people he associates with. Tyler is one of the most likable people to hang out with, and I wish him the best.

I don't care how likable he is or who he is if he killed the deer illegal he is a POS and don't deserve even being talked about. Thats how I feel and I think If a hunter has to kill any game that way should not even be able to hunt. The laws should be tougher on D heads that are breaking game laws. March 6 will be 14 times I had to go to court on trespassers and poachers, just went yesterday on 2 people they got 3 days in jail , 200.00 plus court cost, 1 yr probation. WE need more tougher laws to make dumbarses think before they get tricker happy. THATS ALL FOLKS

Interesting turn of events. One of the shooter's running buddies has lost his job today over another deer killed on the JWR land during bow season. It was shot at night with a .22. The game warden is going to question the shooter. The warden went to question him today and wasn't allowed in to see him. His job looks to be in jeopardy as well.

didnt say we were friends, I used to to hang out with people from this area when i was younger and he is one of them. Hes always acted respectable and has helped people out when they needed help which is probably why so many people were defending him on this site and others. That being said ive had to deal with poachers and trespassers and if a man is guilty then he should be punished to the full extinct of the law.

i wonder what the persons name was that was fired. Its so dumb that people put their livelihood at risk over a deer.

The info embedded in todays photos can be pretty damning evidence!

The GW needs to get his hands on the guy's phone for info and times. It might not be enough to prosecute....But, it will provide a timeline and location. The good thing is......once you get the people apart and apply pressure, SOMEBODY will roll to protect themselves!!! Always do.

Shane Barnett was fired, but not for killin the deer. He was sleepin on the job. Since it was brought up, "the man" did go by and ask to see Tyler, but the company has a policy that won't let them handle things like that or anything else that's personal, on company time. I was hoping this wouldnt make it on here, just so the folks involved couldn't get their stories together, but I truly believe all of their days are coming. Let the squealing begin!

This whole issue can come to light. The determining factor on whether it does or not is if the DCNR agency wants to spend the time, the money, the effort and any other resource to get to the bottom of it.

I hope that they do.

If the kill is legal, everything would be cleared up on Tyler and he should receive respectful recognition for his accomplishment.

If it's not a legal kill he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and any way that he has profited from this kill should be taken away from him (prizes from contests, etc.).

I just hope the situation gets resolved before Aldeer runs out of bandwidth for this thread. grin

Skinny, I kinda (respectfully of course) disagree with you in a way. Here's why: Public peer pressure to do the "right thing" and damnation by others for doing the wrong thing isn't alway a bad thing. Now, ignorant and uninformed retaliation and "witch" hunts are downright wrong.

But it's like what happened recently where the players of a professional team all quit the team b/c the new team owner was a convicted child molester and most of the fans agreed with the players! More power to'em and damn the POS child molester team owner!!!!!!

Anyway, if anyone kills a monster buck, he/she better hope it's legal and I am NOT for the ignorant speculation of guilt. Society should have standards of decency and ethics or behavior and people should be held accountable.

If you hear a hunter bragging about killing "more than three bucks or over the limit on ducks, etc...", you need to grow a set and and verbally denounce the hunter right then and there even if it's in front of a bunch of other hunters. And, all the hunters present should denounce the law breaking hunter as well.

I just moved the post cause ya'll turned it into a non-serious bitch-fest. I had no idea that some goofy lookin' bastard who may or may not have illegally killed a big deer was such an important issue.
