I have hunted with a pair of Danner snake proof sharptail 2 for the last 8 seasons and they are hands down the best boot I have ever had! I am in the market for a new pair myself and check the Internet daily to see if I can find any leads on these particular boots, but also other good boots on the market. Unfortunately everything I have seen on the Danner snake prof sharptail 2 is that they have been discontinued. Have no idea why anyone discontinued them, but I would pay a nice finders fee if anyone could help me locate a place to purchase them. If I find them again. I will be sure to purchase several pair. During my search I ran across a pair of boots that looked similar called foreverlasting I think... Someone may know what I am talking about and can correct me.

I have Danner GTX's. They are very light and feel like tennis shoes on my feet. I like them.

Looking for my Danner Jackel GTX boots today in the mail . I will let you know how they feel when I get them. I've had Rocky, Muck and Bog snake boots . They were all good boots but don't seem to last me more than 2 years. I'm paying a lot for the Danners I hope they will hold up !

Danners, mine are 4 years old and going strong. No break in required, first time I worn them made a trek across the Sipsey Wilderness with no blisters when I got home. I'm sold on Danner boots.

I just buy a pair of good comfortable hiking boots I can wear around wherever and wear some snake leggings with them when it gets hot or if I'm in a bad place.

Leaning towards a pair of Merrel Chameleon 5's for this coming season.

I had a pair of Cabelas zip ups (similiar to the Boa's) sitting at the front door when I got home this afternoon. Lighter than I expected but stiff, gonna require to break-in time. First pair of this type of boot I've ever owned. We'll see.

Had a pair of Irish setter zip ups that I really liked, light and easy on/off ,but they started leaking. Sent them back(they were discontinued) and I.R. sent me a pair of the new models. Could not zip them half way up my calf. They gave me a pair of GoreTex chukkas instead.
Was going to buy Danners,( I am a Danner fan) and saw these on sale at Cabela's for $129. Actually a little lighter than the Danner.Very pleased.

Don't worry about how long they will last, just appreciate how comfortable they are or you will be seriously disappointed. I destroyed 3 pairs of jackals in less than 2 years hunting and working in them.
They are made to be a stalking boot. The bottoms are so soft that they wear out almost instantly in rough terrain and the uppers will bust in that seam that runs down just behind the toes where they flex............happened the same way to all three pairs of mine.
They are wonderful on your feet, but they just don't hold up enough to justify what they cost.

That's the same boot I have. Very comfortable. Going on 3 years on mine and still dry as a bone.
