Okay I ended up getting a savage model 16 in 270 wsm left handed. After looking on the front page I am going to bed the action per bamachem's instructions and a couple of YouTube videos I have watched, so if I mess up my rifle I am holding bamachem responsible. I will post pics as I progress. [Linked Image]

I just bedded a 22-250 Howa a couple weeks back.

I just used the dremel to remove the plastic material at the bedding lugs, sprayed the action down with RemOil really good, and used the Quick-Setting JB Weld.

Put JB into the area you want to bed, install action and screw it down. Let it sit about 30-min, then remove screws and twist the action a little as you remove it from the stock. It should pop right out - at least it does with a Howa. smile

All voids where I don't want the epoxy to go have been filled with modeling clay and the action and all other places where I don't want the epoxy to stick have been rubbed down with kiwi shoe polish. [Linked Image]

Wow that had me so nervous that I didn't even take pics of the epoxy in the stock but here is the semi-finished product. Everything seems good right now. I will have to wait till this time tomorrow to see if I screwed my rifle up. Say a prayer for me.

I would probably sand the excess bedding off and paint the stock but only AFTER I made sure the bedding job helped.

Nice job! I always shoot my rifle first to see how much the bedding helps...or hurts.

Looks good but I would buy a Bell and Carlson Medalist for it. Those tupperware Savage stocks are to flimsy and have a ton of flex.
