I'm on the other side or Etowah in Gallant. It's on the St. Clair line. I'm going Friday, Saturday, & Sunday in Piedmont.

I got 6 long beards on camera yesterday morning at 8:30, so my hopes are high that I'll have a nice one on the ground by 8:45 tomorrow. If I kill one what do I need to do to record it? I've never done this contest in here.

Hey bud....check out the thread that is pinned at the top for rules, but you pretty much take some pics that will verify your kill....one with a piece of paper that says Team 13 Strutbusters and the date or something like that.....Then, go to the official scoring age of the NWTF and type in all your measurements....it will give you a score.....its that simple!

Not a good morning for me, had 3 gobbler come into the greenfield I was on and stayed 100 yards away, then hens showed up and they all left together.

I had a group of 4 come running to my decoy and calling right off the roost this morning , I was thinking hell yeah this is going to be a texbook hunt , flipped safety off ready to blast one but all 4 were jakes they stayed in front of me a while, I let'em go .

I setup in a brush blind about 80 to 100 yards from a known roosting area. Hoot owl was lit in the tree beside the blind. When he got going, the gobblers lit up. Had maybe 8 different birds that I could hear, but one was in the roosting area. He hammered down for 20 minutes, as he walked in the opposite direction. Could have shot a bird with about a 4" beard off the 4 wheeler on the way out.....him and his hens just looked at me like it was nothing. Oh well. Headed to some different land tomm....some thats closer to home, then a decision will be made about Sunday.

Well I called a nice one up for my brother this morning, he had 10 1/2 inch beard and 1 1/8 inch spurs. Awesome hunt.
