A deer walks into a food plot where you have never been before. The food plot has been planted to provide food to attract deer for hunting. Do your eithics tell you it is wrong to kill the deer just because a little loose corn has been placed there along with the oats, wheat and rye that were planted in the same spot where the deer lowers his head to eat while you shoot him? I dont' see much difference myself.

This is ridiculous...and that answers nothing. This just CREATES more problems then it solves. OK..lets say I have a favorite shooting house...about 70 yards off my neighbors line, as my piece is just a 60 acres piece...but good hunting. One morning I go to my permanent shooting house..looking out of my ESTABLISHED food plots...where Ive hunted for decades...and as I sit there..I hear a FEEDER go off...I look out my side window...and ten yards from the line...on my neighbors piece is a feeder. I know its there.......I see the deer going to it...LEGAL..OR NOT?

But like I have said once they take all dogs Yall Stalkers are next. Then Bow hunters then muzzle loaders. Hasn't happened in any other state where dog hunting has been banned. Why would Alabama be different?

I am new to alder! My first post! I too was at the CAB meeting and when I got home and cooled down some, I realized I had burned several gallons of gas and driven 200 miles, round trip, to be part of a total farce. The board had their minds made up way before they arrived in Liberty Park. I spoke against the baiting issue, but like the others that spoke against it, my speech fell on deaf ears. Several game warden friends are outraged over the new regulation. Two of 'em told me that if you put corn out, hunt outside the 100 yards, and out of sight, you are still guilty of baiting, because part of the regulation says you have to not have knowledge of the bait being there. If you put it out, you gotta know it's there! Duh?! Board member McMillan made the scary statement that we don't need the legislature to decide wildlife issues. Guess not when all the decisions are made by folks with plenty of money and high fences. Laws would interfere with their selling more hunts. Barnett Lawley made the Nancy Pelosi comment that the board should pass the regulation so everyone can see how it works. Can you say "Obama Care"? Man, I'm totally disappointed with the Board. They are not representative of the folks that hunt and fish in this state!!! Let's start a campaign to get someone that is a real hunter and really cares about the other hunters in this state! Moultrie told me how to do it. See the Governor and voice our concerns. It'll be tough but is a necessary process to make changes! 150grain Great first post, welcome, I think you're going to fit in well.

Why would Alabama be different? Give it time... Texas outlawed dog hunting for deer in 1990. Seems to me that their hunting is better than it ever has been. Any idea of a time frame, or an example of where it's happened in other states? There are only 9 states (all in the south) in the lower 48 left that allow dog deer hunting. Seems to me that hunting is flourishing where dog hunting is not allowed.

lmao you dont know whats gonna happen. anythings possible. I know that it has not happened anywhere else...... This is not something being driven by evil old PETA or liberals the anti dog hunting sentiment is being pushed by people concerned with property rights and fellow hunters.

doghunter29, Are you saying that you think the CAB has the intention of banning all hunting in AL unless its located on a private hunting lodge or high fence operation?
