I read all of the replies concerning 459.Man I have some memories about that track of road before it opened,Me and a buddy got caught one night "collecting"orange cones. That trooper stayed behind us all the way back making us put them back one by one.We also use to race between the trussville exit and the I-20 exit.I also forgot when I posted earlier on this thread.I think its possible that the fastest Iever went was a short sprint in my mothers mitsubishi 300.I'm not sure how fast because she was freekin and I lost attention with the speedo .All I know is that for once in my life at that age speed made me nervous. That car was the second baddest vehicle I ever grabbed the steering wheel of.The baddest belonged to my fiance at the time. She bought a GMC CYCLONE.Redlight 2 redlight it was awesome. She sold it 6 months after she bought it because it was just too much for her.

1.8 Mach (groundspeed indicator said 1435 knots, about 1650 mph) in an F-4 over the North Sea. I was doing a test flight after a major overhaul. About a minute after it pegged out at 1.8, the engine overheat light came on and I had to return to base. Took me about 60 miles to turn around. Engine got so hot it peeled the paint off the plane. Fun times. Good lord!!!

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

A few miles over 160 on my zx-6 not sure exactly how fast. At that speed you are just trying to hold on and keep your head down, not looking real long at the speedometer. I had that bike for 11 years and sold it just before we had our son last year. I loved riding that bike but it is probably a good thing I got rid of it before it got rid of me!

Your right. The regular 944 was rated at 132 and the turbo at 162. With the right modifications it might get to 180 plus but I dang sure wouldn't want to be in the car if it did.

My first car, a 62 Chevy with a 6 cylinder 235 would top out at 88 on the Camden bypass. I could get it into the low 90s on the hills between Camden and Millers Ferry. We used it to chase pedestrians off the road.
Its a good thing I couldn't afford a fast car.

About 145 in a 1969 Plymouth GTX convertible. That 440 Comando was a bad ass engine
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Had a Mustang that would run 97mph in 660ft. driving home from the track one night had a buddy in a 2001 Trans Am that thought he could out run me on top end.... He let off at 140 because I was still pulling on him. I have no idea how fast it was but Speedo said 85mph!!! No there was Nothing Stock on that car.
My Wife still thinks we only hit 125 on my GSXR 750 on our way back from the Fishing Tourney a few years ago....... she needs to add about 20mph...... Couldnt believe it when she said "Lets do it again!!"
