Cheapest I've seen on gunbot in a while at $0.15/round. Most go for upwards of $0.25/round.

This morning, Simmons in Bessemer had Remington 525 rds for $49.95 a box. Limit was 3 boxes. I didn't get any and when I left there were probably 12 to 15 boxes. Also had 325 rds of Federal in a can for $39.95. Had about 10 or 12 cans when I left at 11:30 AM.

It's downright stupid what has happened to the 22LR market. 3X-5X inflation for over three months now.

I agree. I just can't bring myself to pay those prices for .22 rds. Hopefully, at some point, folks will quit paying those prices and it will drop back down to reasonable (probably wishful thinking on my part).

Last Fall, I went to a Federal Ammo sale at Larry's and bought 4 (525 rd) Value Boxes @ $14.99 a box. I wish I had bought 10 cases frown

Back in Sept of last year I picked up a ammo box of 2,100 Federal 22LR 36 gr for 104.00 at Gander Mtn in Florence. At the time I felt I overpaid but now I wish I picked up 4 or 5 more. I doubt we will ever see those prices again anytime soon.

Guys the prices are what they are because people are paying it. I have seen the invoice from distributors and they have gone up little from their old prices. When the people quit flocking to buy then the price will come back quickly. Everybody thought AR15s would never come back down and you can get them now for 799.

if people would stop buying them to hoard them the availability would come back and the prices would get back to a reasonable bargin. I been looking for some for 2mths (not hard) and have not been able to buy any. It is rediculous.

Exactly. The stores that can get shipments right now are makin bank. I for one won't be buying any until it gets reasonable again. The quicker folks stop paying these stupid prices the quicker it will come right back down.

I talked with the guy here at the local gun store yesterday and he told me the guy from federal ammo told him he Dont see it getting any better within the next year and that's if nothing else crazy happens.I did pickup 2 325 rnd cans of the federal 22lr from him cause I needed some more and at .11 CPR I wasn't the happiest camper but its better than .30-.40 CPR they're asking for it online. Those prices I WILL NOT pay!!

They had several bricks of 550 at Academy for $19.97 but you had to be early and stand in line for over an hour to get them. I'll just shoot what I got. I am not paying double the price or standing in line that long.

As long as Obama and Nutcase are in the White House and Congress is being prodded by the likes of Bloomberg and Feinstein-Schumer-Boxer, the public will want whatever it can get to hoard and will pay.

Best bet is to vote the sumbitches out of out office, and quit overpaying for ammo and guns.

What kills me is all these yahoos on the gun trading boards on Facebook that put ammo up for sale at ridiculous prices and the damn picture has their steering wheel or dash in the background. Folks are just goin and buying it and then putting it up for sale double the price before they leave the parking lot.

You didn't really expect him to tell you that if you held off buying it for a while it would come back down? You reckon they get paid for selling ammo or what?

not sure what the best way to handle them is but they shouldnt be on tv and gettn married and raisin kids

Actually I do expect him to tell me.Been doing business with this guy for many years and he's a straight up guy that is very loyal to his customers.Ammo is up higher through him just like he told me 3 months ago it would be.If in fact the manufactures didnt go up on ammo prices a lil with everyone like he said they did then i still don't blame him for marking it up just a lil.11 cents per rnd was for the federal sealed metal cans.First time I ever bought any of that but every once in a while he's still getting a few bricks of blazers in for .05 cents per round so I just figure the federals are just a more expensive bullet per rnd than the blazers.Either way .11 cpr ain't that bad considering what everyone else on here is asking and if he wants to make a few extra bucks and i don't mind spending a few extra bucks it don't matter.I shoot alotta 22lr so i buy it when it comes available at a decent price.
