Since we are pretending.
Pretend it's the unofficial first week of summer and the DCNR system is down and it's not deer season.
What would you do?
I would go to the beach and fish all week and not give a shat about something that just don't matter right now. ^^Best Answer^^ While you're at the beach, new rules are being finalized. Although the CAB approved the proposed rule, it has not yet gone through the review and comment period required by law. Until then, it will not be lawfully implemented. While you're at the beach, I'll just keep fighting to keep our hunting rights intact. Take Bucktrot with you. You need to keep him busy taking care of his own business instead trying to butt into mine.

Fixed it for you I don't have anything useful to say about it, so I'll just butt in like a kid interrupting adults while they are talking. I fixed yours for you too.

Not trying to interrupt but how bout clarification..... Is this One for all?..... Or All for one?.....Can one really make all better or right when "one's" idea doesn't match another's.... especially when it comes to law..... It seems hard to implement change when change obviously is going to benefit all of "one's" needs. I wanted a different Leader of the free world.....but I didn't get it.... but I will move on and continue to do what I think is best for me within the law.

we've already tried the non-government intrusion and no-mgmt of wildlife approach and it didn't work. Ask the buffalo, deer or the ducks, etc... Or, ask sport fishermen how they feel about unrestricted use of mass netting! No one has asked to go back to a no-management approach such as mass netting. Why do you make up things like this to say?

If you review the CAB meeting minutes for this year I think you'll find that this is Joey Dobb's pet rule. He's not a wildlife biologist. Best I can tell, he's in the landscape business. He just happens to have his own opinion and to be a friend of the governor.

I know you guys are bored but man get over it either log them in or not nobody cares You're here or you wouldn't be posting. Get a hobby man!!! Are you bored? ... and there are people who care: Sen. Paul Sanford, R-Huntsville: Sanford said the bill would prohibit increased red tape for deer and turkey hunters by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
“Putting more red tape on hunters sounds like an idea the federal government would dream up, not the Department of Conservation in a strong pro-hunting state like Alabama,” Sanford said. “This sport generates a nearly $1 billion annual economic impact for our state, and we should be working to increase that number. I’m afraid increased regulations would have the opposite effect.”

49er, what were the conception dates on those ten does? I know you can't see it but it may provide an possible indication as to your buck-to-doe ratio. Ten is not many does to base too much but I'm not a biologist. Hopefully, all ten does' average conception dates were close together. If they're spread out over 30 to 60 days, what'cha think that means? I'm sure other data points were noted as well. I wish today's biologists knew that they wasted all their money on their education as they don't know jackchit about the biology of the whitetail deer!!! Let me say it one more time: What happens on our lease was none of your business yesterday, it's none of your business today, and it won't be any of your business tomorrow. Set up your own site-specific deer managing program with your own biologist wannabe notions and quit worrying about other people's business. 49ers that's what happens when you post something on a public website that is designed for discussion. You discounted Chris Cook's efforts in a public forum so you should be able to back up the reasons for your position. Basically, the people of the State of Alabama paid for Chris Cook to do his job on your hunting land. You are quick to discredit people but you cannot back it up with facts. Don't pleasure yourself with the thought that I do care what he found out. ![smile smile](/forum/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif)

Seems like a good place to put my latest complaint about Big Government - anybody read the story about the bill they passed to start regulating barber shops? Yea, our Republican legislature and Republican governor decided that we stupid little people wouldn't be safe unless we started paying a wise govt employee to come around and inspect all the barber shops and make sure they are safe. Of course, this won't be free; it will be added to the price of a haircut. And it comes with all sorts of rules as to who can open a barber shop and cut hair. George Wallace was right - there ain't a dime's worth of difference between the 2 parties. I get my hair cut at one of two barber shops - both are one-girl operations. They are no doubt barely making a living. If I thought they were unsafe, I'd go somewhere else. I don't need some dweeb from the state to inspect them for me. I hope they can both stay in business, but I'm sure they will have to raise their rates to pay for the new inspectors. This doesn't have much to do with the thread, but the thread needs a fresh argument. 49er, I hope you can use this in some way. ![smile smile](/forum/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif)

Basically, the people of the State of Alabama paid for Chris Cook to do his job on your hunting land. You are quick to discredit people but you cannot back it up with facts. My criticism of Chris Cook has been on the basis of his political activities in support of a statewide wildlife management program that is neither supported by scientific methods nor authorized by law. I support our participation in the DMAP program because it's voluntary and it's site-specific. Chris is the supervising wildlife biologist in our district and I find no reason why we can't disagree on the politics of the DCNR and still work together in the DMAP program. The details of that is none of your business. The rules you want forced on others is purely liberal politics. Joey Dobbs wanted this reporting rule. Why don't you explain his wildlife management expertise to us and back up your support for this rule with facts.

How hard is it really to just make a dang phone call jeez there are way more important things that 49er needs to be focusing on ........just saying your expertise can be better used on the things that really matter like the gun rights issue you have been involved in earlier..... How many more new crimes will it take you make you happy? Freedom and liberty are lost a little piece at a time. Every little piece of freedom and liberty is worth keeping. Pretty soon you'll probably be required to get a haircut before you go to the woods because it is a known fact that deer are repelled by human hair. That can't be good for the herd. I think I read that in a QDMA magazine when I was a member... or maybe goobler said it... I can't keep up with which liberal said what there's so many lately.

I would look it up, but the state's website is STILL down.

You haven't heard?? They called in P. Allen Smith to help settle the fall turkey season controversy. Something about they want to keep it scientific and all. P. Allen is qualified. He's good at horticulture: The Alabama Department of Conservation website is currently unavailable. Please check back soon!
