I know there have been discussions about sunn hemp before and just wanted to say that Federer's in Cullman has the seed if anyone is looking. I bought them for $3 per lb. but its is based on how much you buy I think so it might be a bit higher or lower depending on how much. I am gonna try it in a couple of different places this spring.

It's amazingly fast growing and deer will wear it out when the plants first establish and are initially putting out shoots. However, it will be 5-6 feet tall in just 2 months and then deer browsing pretty much ends. The ntirogen fixxing capability is worth the planting cost, as it provides about 100 lbs N to the acre. If you plant real dense it provides great cover for wildlife too.

If you plant sun hemp for a summer plot and then bush hog it. And then wait two weeks or so and then say disk and plant for fall greenfields .....I heard but haven't tried but was told that it will be very hard and time consuming to disk. ???? Does anybody have experience in planting fall grass or clover on a summer plot of sun hemp previous spot? I planted half of a large food plot and left the other half as is. I'll know the results in the Fall but would like some feedback from someone who may already have previous experience.
