The year long is from TN, you lose your license for a year from the date of offense for hunting over bait, plus gun, fines, license, etc.

Here is what he really got in trouble for

According to a court document, U.S. Magistrate Judge James P. O’Hara ruled Spann had violated a probation that forbid him from hunting anywhere in the United States for about the first half of this year. Federal game wardens obtained video footage and Facebook photos of Spann dressed in camoflauge and assisting other turkey hunters this spring in Tennessee.
Though Spann was not carrying a weapon and did not kill a turkey, he was ruled to be hunting because he was calling to turkeys, carrying hunting equipment, carrying dead turkeys and illegally spreading bait to attract turkeys.

Does that change your opinion?

Never heard of him.

Looks like the old boy is having to pay his dues if you know what I mean.

If he was pouring corn out to kill turkeys then I can't stomach that.I can see getting messed up in the paper work stuff like the first time he got in trouble. I also didn't like his show at all.

I didn't care for this fool anyway. He only got where he is because of family money and not because of his hunting skills. Dips_it.

His wife on FB says everyone is "turning on him" now.

He got videoed breaking the law and violating probation. Don't break the law and violate probation after conviction on a federal wildlife law and you won't have people "turning" on you. Simple as that.

Super nice guy. I met him at Gander Mt in Tuscaloosa a while back. He has made mistakes and he is paying for them. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. But I'm not sure that he is a piece of crap that some are trying to make him out to be.

clarkdeer...deliberately pouring corn out for turkey is NOT ignorance..it is the willful violation of game laws. So is shooting a big buck on land that you do not have a landowners tag for.
I dont know...but as a landowner Im pretty sure exactly of my boundaries and I know if a deer is on my property or not...so I cant see that as "ignorance" either.

I did outdoor tv for 15 years and NEVER violated any game laws. I never shot deer on land I did not have a tag for, I never baited, and I never did the huge array of things you see people getting caught doing.
These people and those acts make it HARDER for the honest joe to get the sponsor dollars needed to do well in the industry.

Luckily for me My time in outdoor TV started in the beginning..and ended just as the glut of shows that are on now started, so sponsor ships were easier to obtain and hold. Therefore I was lucky enough to have and maintain the same sponsors throughout my career.
I am glad to be out of it now as things like this cause all outdoor tv personalities to be looked at differently.

Like Skully I've never heard of spook spann. I didn't know it was illegal to be in the woods in camo, or call a turkey, or carry hunting equipment or tote a dead turkey if he didn't shoot or attempt to shoot a turkey. Sounds like he is getting an appropriate sentence tho.

in the wording a lot of times it states hunt or "aid in a hunt".
