I enjoy the show. Can't find "ANY OTHER" morning show to listen to in central Alabama. Fixed your quote for you. I can't pick up that many radio stations in my neck of the woods and Rick & Bubba are on 10 of them every morning. It reminds me of the Russian newspaper Pravda that used to claim it had the highest circulation of any newspaper in the world. Of course the reason for their success was that if you lived in soviet controlled territory it was the only paper you were allowed to get. In the morning around here your choices are either listen to Rick and Bubba or cut the radio back off. Not too hard to have decent ratings when your only competition is silence. The basic premise of the show (John Boy and Billy Big too) is that redneck number 1 says something totally unfunny but redneck number 2 and the designated background laughers fall out laughing like it was the funniest thing to ever pass the lips of man. Then redneck number 2 takes his turn and everyone laughs at his unfunny comment just as hard. I guess the intent is to try and convince you with all the fake laughter that something funny has actually been said. Never has worked on me. The only thing worse than the lame attempts at humor are when they try to talk seriously about politics or important social issues. It's like listening to a couple of 4 year olds try to explain nuclear fission. Waaaaay out of their league.

The best index to a person’s character is (a) how he treats people who can’t do him any good, and (b) how he treats people who can’t fight back. - Abigail van Buren

Now that there is funny. True too. Like I said before, if you like to hear dorks talk their arse off first thing in the morning, then have at it. I'd rather have silence. Or a root canal.
