A&M also had 6 starters on defence suspended for this game that will be playing at the Bama game. Put them 6 starters in the game against Rice and I bet they don't score as much.

That O line has got to improve or aTm will hand Bama their arse. Bama just ain't Bama if they can't run the ball. Pass protection was even worse. Saban ought to be happy though, he's got alot to work on & be pissed about.

Bama is just as good as they were last year. They easily could have been 9-3 last year and could be this year as well or they may go undefeated, it will just depend on the few close games they will have. As for the oline they were just as good as last years oline. If pressure was brought last year oline could not stop it. If a team had put 9 in the box last year we could not have run it either. As for play calling saban has always gone to the basics once the game gets to a 14pt lead, so no suprise there, and maybe he kept running up the middle to test the oline as much as possible since they don't get to play next week.

You don't lose 3-4 of your starters to the NFL and have new guys come in who have to learn their positions as well as get some experience under their belt and be "as good as they were last year".

Last nights game showed that they aren't.

I do believe they will get better as they go. Just got to get better quickly.

The won't be playing another ACC team in two weeks.

Why not all these guys are top recruits that have played ball all their lives. Most are not true freshman. With 4 great recruiting classes there should be little or no difference. Just my opinion

With what defense? With or without there starters, giving up 500 yards to RICE means you suck.

The O-line needs to get to work, But the guys were the most obvious weakness and VT exploited it. On the bright side this years VT would have looked good against last years o-line if they used the same strategy. Just last years team might have held off the dogs a few plays to get a few good deep balls..

Also I think VT cb's played as well as anyone in the country yesterday.

I'm not so sure, the offensive line needs alot of work but I saw some things in the vt game that baffled me at the time but not so much now. If you watch the game again, watch the guys on the qb. There were numerous times were one to two guys could of had a sack but stopped as if to hold off a run. One time two guys had put on the breaks five yards from him like they had been trained for a running qb. Something interesting to pay attention too.
