I feel bad for you man. Do you'll have kids? How long have you been married? Is there no way to save it?

You didn't ask but make sure you have the best attorney that you can afford and listen to them. I got the best lawyer in my town and paid dearly but reined him in some when I probably shouldn't have. Most importantly if there are kids involved be it yours, hers or y'alls ,make sure that they know they are loved and the divorce isn't their fault. Sending one up for you and your family.

Oh lord.. It can get ugly. Like said get a damn good lawyer. I didn't and paid for it for a long time.

Divorce is a terrible thing. I went through it 5 years ago and it took a heck of a toll. My advice is going to go against what most everyone else will say. This advice is only if you have children.

Go to your wife and ask her to let you get your child as much as you are able. If you can pick her up for dinner 2 or 3 days a week then do it. Ask if you can have her or him spend the night atleast once a weekend. Take them to church on Sundays. Ask your wife to be flexible and let her know you are committed to being more than an every other weekend parent . Ask her to be reasonable and in return you don't be worried about keeping every dime you can.

If she won't be reasonable then fight like hell for full custody. Your child needs both parents and you are divorcing the wife not your child. unfortunately the child gets the short end of the deal all to often while dad and mom fight over every little dime and material possession.

I gave up a lot monetarily when I got divorced but I get my child almost every afternoon and atleast one day a weekend. I also get her for as long as I want in the summer. I can make more money but my child will not suffer because my ex and I couldn't live together.

If you are going to get a lawyer that will drag your wife through the mud then don't expect any cooperation later. Invest in your child and it will pay off for them even though you may suffer a little monetarily. Invest in trying to get every penny and you will most likely benefit monetarily but your child will suffer.

I went thru it a few months ago... it sucks but it will get better!!!

Been married 9 years. No kids. Pretty cut and dried. Gonna take some gettin used to but I can't live with the fact of what she did so I made her leave. Filing tomorrow.

No kids takes about 85% of her perceived leverage away. If she's committed that kind of atrocity, I'd tell her to pound sand and every time she pisses you off her cut just got smaller. You're one of the few that can hold out as long as you want and won't really lose anything by doing so. Hire a good lawyer and tell him to drag it out till one of the two of you is dead; or she gives in to what you want;

I hate it for you, who thought you had what you wanted in a wife. That being said, since you have no kids don't give up a damn thing. Somebody on here knows of a damn good lawyer in your area and you need that info.

Last divorce I got (#2) didn't go to court but was minutes from it. I subpoenaed everybody she even said Hi to, including her boyfriend and his banker sister. Lots of embarrassment sitting around and squirming just before seeing the judge. I got custody of my son and 90% of everything she and I owned. Men CAN win, but not if you believe word on the street.

Oh all that's been decided. She gets absolutely nothing ! I told her if she fought it I'd drag her name through the mud so badly it'd be a shame. My best friend is her boss and he told me to say the word and she's gone. so I definitely have the upper hand. She's not going to even get a plate and fork outta me !
