I have somehow misplaced or have had a pistol stolen from me since this weekend. Its a Springfield XD 40. The last time I saw it was in my car in my driveway Sunday around lunch. Since then I have torn the house and all my cars up looking for it. I have a hard time believing that it has been stolen as I live a good bit off the road and neither us or nor our neighbors have ever had any problems with scumbag theivery. I feel like I placed it somewhere and havent came accross it yet. Question is do I call the cops and file a report now or do I wait?

I had that same problem a few weeks back. I tore the truck and house apart and was wondering about calling the cops when I remembered it was in my boat.

Is it in your holster on your belt? Kind of like looking for your sunglasses when they are on top of your head.

I feel like I remember bringing inside but have had no luck with a search. My wife and kids claim to not have seen it either. I just really wish it would turn up.

Not to lecture anybody but You guys need to be more careful. If I am not wearing it or using it my guns stay locked up. My kids are all used to guns but you never know who will find a gun left laying around. I dont need to be lectured too. I've owned and been around guns my hole life and this is the first time this has ever happened. My kids now about guns and most of mine stay locked up. But I have a few that are never locked up for a reason. This is one of them.

Thank God I found this gun yesterday. Tucked nice and neat in my turkey tote that was in my car the day it went missing. It's s rather large tote that must be carried with 2 hands. Do I guess I opened it up and put the gun inside to carry it in the house and never thought about it again. Getting my stuff ready for the dove hunt I opened it to get some clothes out and bam, there it was. I just knew it hadn't been stolen. I guess in getting old.

Not to lecture anyone but what good is a locked up gun gonna do you and your family if a thug kicks in your door? There are good reasons people have to not keep them locked away at all times.

I left a S&W 38 in the top of my brothers guest bedroom closet in Fl one year and found it the next year. Didn't even know it was missing. And I don't need a damn lecture from anyone.....

I've never permanently lost one, but I did hide one so well that I couldn't find it for a while.....
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
