For about 5 years now I have really been trophy hunting and have taken a couple decent bucks except for last year getting skunked. I have let a lot of deer walk, but this year my family and extended is really needing some meat in the freezer and i'm the only one that hunts so look out. If its Brown its Down lol.

Yeah right.
I will believe it when I see it.
Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

I can remember having brown it's down weekends with my dad and now deceased little brother. That saying brings back a lot of good memories. I remember one Thanksgiving morning in south Ga in the 80's we took 6 does between the three of us Good Times. He got the name butcher that week he was 12 at the time. What I'd give for one more day with him in the woods.

My ex boss took me a buddy that worked for us and our salesman to union springs one morning for a hunt. On the way down he asked if we wanted to have a buck hunt or slut shoot we were in for either. We could only shoot mature bucks so it turned into a slut shoot we killed 7 does that morning. He didnt realize he asked the wrong question to some trigger happy rednecks. The back of his f250 was full when we left great morning.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Hopefully it will be a good season. I can remember back in high school when me and my buddies went out for a two day hunt, when it was over we had 7 deer hanging in the barn. We threw a big party and grilled deer all day and night. Everybody took deer back to the house with em.

I hate to be like this, but I wouldn't drag a doe deer out of the woods for it. It has been so long ago, I can't even remember the last one I killed, Just not what I want from my hunting experiences. I don't have trouble with someone killing some deer for the freezer, but I hate to see a slaughter.

I knew it wouldn't take long for somebody to chime in about the "needless slaughter". We all go through stages as hunters and it don't take long to see who is at the bottom of the stages. Numbers don't make me happy-Never did and never will. Not shooting anything but mature deer has opened the doors for me to several properties that are unavailable to meat hunters. It takes all kinds-that is why they sell blue cars, green cars, white cars, etc.

Ask N2deer I have let many a buck walk but I am glad when my family asks for some help I am able to do that. On my property I have always been strict when it comes to shooting bucks but I have always allowed someone to try and shoot what ever if they need some meat in the freezer that's hunting at its core. I aint wanting to get caught with out having enough meat this year cause when family asks I will give it away and get left with out having any for myself.

I have a freezer full of shoulders if that will help you out. you are welcome to them, or anyone else that wants to come and get them . Between my son and my hunting partner, we have 12 that need a new home. We all kill no more than two a year each and that keeps us fed all year. I'm in Colbert County. I don't eat the shoulders, so that is why they are left over. I grind the hams into bacon burger and keep the loins for wraps. I usually have one deer a year made into summer sausage. It is expensive, but it is sure good stuff.

Thanks Teacher One, for the offer. They are okay I am just going to take some of the burden off them, ran out of deer meat last May and don't want to have that happen next year I enjoy deer, hog, fish and all other meat but it seems like as soon as I get some in somebody needs some of it. So this year I am not going to run out.
