My first attempt at growing WMS. The field is only three years old. The field is full of rocks, looks like sand and started with a P.H. of 4.3.

First time with WMS Deer Magnet for me too this year.
Also, first time with the Daikon radishes.

GREAT looking plots and the deer are loving the radishes!
I am a little surprised, since usually they wait until after a freeze to eat the brassicas. But, they are mowing these down!

BTW, I sure hope we get this rain tonight/tomorrow! My patches are looking thirsty....

Ours don't really need the rain, but you take it when you can get it.

Quick question guys, a couple if my deer magnet plots have shot up about 8-10 inches, do I need to bush hog it or let it grow ?

We plant in September. Our radishes and turnips are a foot tall. Our tritical and coker oats got high, too. We were starting to get worried, but they started to eat it. They started out just eating the oats and tritical. We must have had a frost cause they are hammering our radishes and turnips now.

Just be patient.

I talked to my buddy that hunted one of the plots tonight and he said had five does on the plot destroying the turnips eating em up, so I feel a little better now

I used a mix made in Louisiana called buck buster wheat, oats, peas, several types of rape and clover then top sewed purple top turnips. I had 10 on it this afternoon they were tearing it up maybe my new plot mix.
