If you kill the knot head's mama he just might stay around... I've heard that too. I'm sure I've done it a time or two as I have shot plenty of does with fully self-sufficient fawns in tow. However, I wouldn't make it a regular thing, the family tree of the deer on your place will have no branches! There's a reason the mother pushes the young bucks out.
