Hogwild OP Booner H Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 12,788 Thomasville, AL	I got a really nice, old 8pt Thursday afternoon. I have been after this sucker all year! I have seen 2 times before this. But, he managed to give me the slip both times. 3rd time was a charm, though! I had been watching a doe feeding around for a while right before dark when a spike came through the woods and started chasing her and grunting. I heard something in the water and the spike stopped and started looking that way. This buck had swam a big lake and was coming fast!!! He ran the spike about 50yds and just stood behind some brush watching/looking for the doe. I spied her slipping back around between me and the buck and she started easing back the way the spike had come from. The spike was just standing back out of the way and started feeding away. Finally, the 8 pt started coming back toward me smelling for the trail of the doe. He walked out into an old road in the swamp about 90 yds away and looked straight my way. That was his last mistake!!! 192lbs and 20" wide. A real Swamp Donkey!
