Didn't see but one shooter this season, so I shot him. Time for rabbits and squirrels to give up a few.

I've been chasing them since Oct 15 and I am burned out. I haven't seen any bucks worth shooting. I killed 2 does during bow, have passed on a bunch since. Road hunters are terrible where I hunt, as are ethics. We are never going to have mature deer until people quit shooting anything with horns.

I'm ready for it to be over. Didn't get much chance to hunt due to my grandad getting sick and passing away January 1st. Already looking forward to next year. This late in the season I just can't get into it. Our rut is over.

I'm not going to miss looking at weather forecasts, trying to plan hunting around family stuff, putting things off that really should have been taken care of right then, freezing in a tree stand, etc.

I AM going to miss watching the sun come up while sitting 35' up a pine tree, watching deer sneak through the woods, trying to get the upper hand on a buck, the thrill of seeing a buck down while trying to safely get down a tree, having the opportunity to thank the good Lord above for allowing me to harvest a whitetail, etc.

When this season is finally over I'll be glad to have it in the books, cause it'll soon be time to hit Lake Guntersville and see what we can do to the crappie population!!!

I'll be calling it quits this weekend. I'm ready for it to be over cause I'm tired of feeling guilty when I have a chance to go and I don't. I've had a pretty good year so I'm gonna hit it hard Saturday and Sunday and take it easy til turkey time.

Theres only 10 days left, forget all the depressing posts, Im going to hit it every chance I get from here on out. Once the final sun sets Jan. 31 I'll thank the lord for another beautiful season in the woods, work hard till mid march and then chase the turkeys. Its been our worst season ever at our camp, but being in the woods on a late January hunt is something I'll be dreaming about in July, and its here right now. One good hunt can change it all, and Im planning on making that happen

I'm done anyway. Last Saturday, I tripped over a stump hole and dropped my rifle as I fell. Somehow, it broke the butt plate and the bottom corner of the stock off of it and the scope is all jacked up. The moral of the story is don't take a sentimental heirloom type of gun out in the woods.

I aint seen crap but still anticipating the depression. I hope a little hog hunting and getting the boat ready to fish will help take my mind off of it.

No depression here ... as said before another season comes right in. Will be on the hogs and coyotes after deer season ends.
Got a ton of work I want to start doing on the green fields and roads before the summer heat gets here.
Once the summer heat is here I go to fishing early AM or at night. Will also find a cooler place during the summer nights and build some shooting houses.
