Aint cleaned mine in 2 years and still shooting good lol I actually started to clean them in december after one of them got wet, My wife wasnt watching what she was doing and knocked one of them over on laminate floor. So wound up just scrubbing rust off the outside and never cleaned the bore. Gonna do it sometime in the off season, when my wife is gone

I put oil on the outside of mine after it gets rained on. If I get the gun wet from dew while on the 4 wheeler I put oil on it. I clean the bore after 100 or so shots or when accuracy gets bad. I don't pamper my guns. They look like I've been driving T posts with them but they go bang every time. Me and you would get along..... Hell I'm afraid if I cleaned a couple of my deer rifles I would have to sight them in again! I don't pamper anything other than my two little girls. If you buy good stuff from the beginning, you don't have to

I wipe it off from time to time, but only once in its life has the barrel been cleaned. It's like polishing a turd.

Hell I'm afraid if I cleaned a couple of my deer rifles I would have to sight them in again! I don't pamper anything other than my two little girls. If you buy good stuff from the beginning, you don't have to I figure if you shoot them long enough that the barrel will get tighter from all the buildup in it and that will make the pressure higher which will make the bullet faster which will make the bullet drop less at 300 yards. Right? Oh, and after cleaning it right after I bought it, I have never again cleaned my Benelli SBE II. A couple weeks ago I went rabbit hunting so I took an air hose to my Remington 870 after it sat in the barn all summer and fall. I even opened up the action and blew the dirt out of their too. It looked real nice after I soaked the outside down in PB blaster. There were no dirt dauber nests in the barrel either. I looked down the tube good before I shot it.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

You mean you actually have to clean them?
I rarely ever do more than wipe one down. Dont think I've ever cleaned a rifle barrel.

Na. just kidding I clean the crap out of mine then I go to the range and shoot it and get it sighted it. I shoot it maybe 10 times. I then go home and the next time I go to the range I shoot it again and see where it is shooting with a cold barrel. usually its off an inch or two. I adjust, usually takes like 3 shots total. I then let it sit for an hour to totally cool off then I shoot it one more time. It should hit bulls eye. If it does I hunt with it just like that for the whole season unless I feel it could have been knocked off. If it doesn't I adjust till it does then go home and repeat the process one more time till it hits dead center on the first shot. I do not ever clean my gun after I know exactly where its shooting.

Sight in early, leave till after the season.
I imagine cleaning to often could cause excessive wear from the oil build up. I always dry what oil I can off when done.
