No I didn't kill a big one, but I took my 14 year old god son and he killed his first deer. A small 7 pt. Its a trophy to him. I have taken him on a hunt each year for 3 years straight and this was his first opportunity. I only killed one buck this year. My best bow kill to date but I took 2 young hunters. One got his first deer and the other got his first buck sitting alone. I am blessed!

That is fantastic. I have had more fun the last two weekends "guiding" for my son than I ever have hunting by myself or hunting with him with me. It's a different ball game when they are the only one holding a rifle.

Congrats to all TR. ![thumbup thumbup](/forum/images/graemlins/default/grinning-smiley-003.gif) I saw something this evening on my way home that made my day. I stopped by the processor to pick up a deer. There was a guy, probably in his late 40's, that was mentally handicapped. He had killed a pretty good 8pt. and was posing for pictures with it. He was excited as heck about it and all the attention he was getting. I don't know if it was his first deer or buck. I stopped and listened to his play by play of the hunt, shook his hand and told him congratulations on a fine buck. That buck was a world record in his eyes. I love to see someone get that genuinely excited over killing a deer. It's something I don't see very often these days.

Congrats TR! I hope you took pics of all 3 "guided" hunts. Shaw, that sounds awesome. I bet you left with a knot in your throat.
