Ok, so today started out good here in pike county for me. Got to the shooting house pre daylight with my pop (he's a bow hunter and today's conditions were a little more than he wanted to deal with). By the time shooting light came around I was looking at a 85" 2 year old 8 pt. and a doe. A spike followed about 20 min later. They cleared the field in about fifteen minutes. Fed with their backs to the wind moving from north to south. Watched 20 turkeys come down from their roost and feed as well. No more action till 8:15 when I started to get a little cold. I pulled out a hand warmer and shook it up and set it on the windowsill. Suddenly, my dad says to me "Shooter! Shooter!!" I thought he was joking. But then I saw the buck coming in at a lope. He covered 130 yards very quickly I realized then, I was going to have to stop him. By now I had the gun up and he was 60 yards from the blind. With a loud "MEHH" he stopped and the rifle cracked!! I've never seen a mule kick like this one did before. His legs went straight to the 12 o'clock position! He ran out of the field and stopped just inside of the woods. The last thing I saw was his tail wagging like crazy.... I turned around an looked at my dad. He got it all on film!!!!!!!
45 crazy long min later I got down. Found blood, and we walked right to the deer....
He's 18 and an eighth inside and weighed 175 (very run down) both g2s are over 10" (I'll score him later) he's really rutted up. Stinks like crazy!!
Here's a trailcam pic of him from the 14th. Didn't realize he was this big..

And now...
