After 50 years of hunting and over 200 kills I can tell you one thing for sure.
If you kill a buck that that is 3.5 years old and scores 130 he will never make it to 160.
Also, there are plenty of bucks in Alabama that score 160 and they are not in a high fence.
Most 6.5+ year old deer in Alabama are never killed by a hunter. They die of old age and their rack will start to decline after about 7.5 years.
BTW, how can I achieve 12 point or above status without making 15,000 plus post on this forum? Really don't have the time.

Red - I don't think you need to be a 12 point to have some credibility on here. A picture is worth a thousand words, so they say. There are a lot of folks who show up on the internet talking a big game. When a man makes his first post about holding out on free range 160's in Alabama, folks are skeptical. I don't think anything was meant to be personal.

Casey, you gonna have some of Red Head's 160s behind every tree, I'm in! I didn't know 160s were so easy to come by that there are hunters in Alabama that hold out for them.  dang me either! I figured to have some pretty high standards but i feel like a noob now!
