Whild bill don't let these guys give you too hard a time they're just yanking your chain for the most part. There are specialized techniques for finding turkey nests but the way to do it is to relocate them and not destroy them. I'm sure your president wouldn't have any problem with relocating them to another piece of property where they don't mind having turkeys. I'll be glad to help you with the problem. Nesting season will begin around mid march and usually lasts all the way thru April. I can come down one weekend and look things over and if it looks like you're gonna have a bad problem with nests I can arrange to come down and spend a couple days finding them as long as you can arrange lodging for me. Hope I can be of help. Here's a good nest I found and relocated last year. Pm me if you need any more information.

CM1975: Why? we don't coon hunt. It puts too much pressure on the deer and then they become knockturnal and harder to kill during the day. Way back when we stsrted the club they had a turket season during deer season in Coosa County and he been complainin about them ever sinse they stopped the turkeys in deer season. Is there something you can plant that would make them not want to eat and move on?

I sure hope this guy is using braided line. Ya'll are tearing the drag out. He didn't fool anyone.

I was just repeating what our president was talking about. Gosh, I didn't mean to make folks angry but as a serious trophy deer club we are trying to find out how to get rid of turkeys because they is always boogering up our deer hunting somehow. Doeman, we only shoot 6 year old bucks and older unless a kid is down then he/she can shoot whatever. If yall know of any ways to get turkeys off the property is what we aim to do. Relocation was suggested and that seems like a good idea but lots of work?

Have you guys seriously thought about selling some turkey only memberships. You will get rid of some of the birds and make a little extra money for your club.
Destroying hens nest just isnt right and could be detrimental to them. There really is no sense in trying to kill or run off all your turkeys, they is no way you could convince me or anyone else that turkeys make your deer hunting harder.
Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

I will come kill the gobblers. Coosa county is my back yard. You are gonna have to get Yekrut to come kill the hens though. That is his specialty.

A true "trofee" hunter should know a dang turkey ain't gonna mess up a deer hunt. If you are spooking them and they're making a lot of noise getting out of there then quit moving. I've never seen or heard them make a ton of noise because of hunters orange unless I've surprised them somehow. Most of the time they see it from a long distance, putt a few times and walk away or around me. I'm still really hoping this is a joke. Relocating a nest?? Seriously?? Brent was joking about that other than he'd make some disappear. You can't relocate a nest, except to an incubator, then you'll have tame turkeys. If you're gonna do that, at least put them in the frying pan and make some biscuits. Still hurts your property and those around you. Your gonna have to find another excuse for not shooting those 6 yr. olds y'all like to kill, like pressure, or they just lay on their butts all day, or your neighbors putting out truckloads of corn. My guess is, if you're really ignorant enough to think turkeys are the reason, you really just don't have or know what it takes to kill an old deer, so blind luck is gonna be your best bet!
