We look up and this dang turkey comes running around the bend about 100 from us. All we could do was stand and watch him lock up the brakes and pitch out. Knew where he went so we eased out to the gas line he landed on. Sat and waited him out for an hour or so and got up to leave and the bastard pitched up off the ground not 20 yards behind us! In those 4 years, I only hunted a total of 6 weekends. I am looking to change that this year. I hope to hunt every single weekend of the season, and maybe a weekday or three.
