I had the hinge come out of my frame. I figured they would just take my lenses out and put them in new frames, but they gave me a whole new pair of shades! Awesome customer service.

As for the argument against spending the money for them, they have become a part of my daily routine. Cell phone, keys, watch, wallet, costas. If you're willing to spend money on a decent watch I don't see why you couldn't spend some on the sunglasses since you are more than likely going to wear them everyday.

This. I cant survive a day outside without them. Its not an option, Ill have a wicked migraine and my day is shot. Also I take care of my stuff and have had the same pair for 8 years so its money well spent.

Post up how well they compare. I just broke a lens and both are damaged from running a grinder while wearing them.

They replaced a pair of mine when the dog chewed them up, then I dropped them out of the jeep going about 50 down the road.

Its a bad day when I leave them at home.

I'm about to see how good their customer service is. I'm sending a pair of Blackfins in that had the hinge on the earpiece break where it was molded into the frame.

Post back on how they do. my wife always breaks them and just goes out and buys a new pair.

Sometimes, such examples could mean close to or equal quality but you have to be a smart shopper and I don't know how you'd do a quality test between the two.

I will argue that damage to your eyes over a period of time may not be so noticeable until it's too late.

Like every redneck around, this ol'redneck has a set of Costa Del Mar sunglasses too and I have experience with Costa's returns and customer service... I was impressed with the c'service.

What's the proper way to send them bac for repairs? I just cracked a lens on my Triple Tails.

Print the stuff off the internet and follow the directions.

I've sent 3 Costas back. The first was a pair of Frigate's 400g's of my son's that were busted in the pool. They broke completely in half on the nosepiece. They replaced them free of charge. The second was a cheaper pair($129) with plastic lenses that my other son broke. They replaced them for $39. The last pair was a pair of Man-o-war's (580 glass) that I broke. It cost me $99 to replace those.

I dropped my Zane's on hardwood floor breaking one of the 580G lenses. Sent them back. Cost me $100. Two weeks later, dropped them on concrete. Busted lens. Still haven't sent them back (can't justify another $100!). This was months ago. I've been wearing cheap ($12.95) polarized shades since. I much prefer my Costas and will eventually get them fixed.

I know it sounds like I'm reckless with the glasses (2 busted lenses in two weeks), but this was really an anomaly. I generally take good care of them and wore them for years without any problems. Just bad luck.

Yep, I put a Jasper replacement engine in my Porsche.

Well got the new lenses in and popped them in the frames. They look bad ass. BUT they are the Quality of lesser glass. They will be fine as back ups or if you break a glass and need a quick replacement for the next day, like I do at times, but they are not Costa Del Mar quality.

The jury is still out... I sent them out today.

Who wants to bet that I double or even triple my money in Costa Rica this week. Im going to try to trade the knock off pair for a 4 hour fishing trip.
