Thanks guys! I bought a lot of what y'all suggested. Even plain old oatmeal! ![rolleyes rolleyes](/forum/images/graemlins/default/rolleyes.gif) I forgot the salmon but did get a bag of tilapia. I got lots of fiber stuff, fruits, raw veggies, chicken breast, weight watcher dinners, and a case of chocolate weight loss shakes. I thought of Troy when I went down the coffee isle!

Bart, just cut out white bread, processed sugar, red meat, and sex.
Not sure about the last one, but since everything else is all about pleasure, thought I would just add that one.
Lost 38 lbs here, otherwise.

I know this is a radical idea but don't dismiss it too quickly.
#1 Continue eating exactly what you are eating and just start exercising.
#2 After a couple of weeks with no weight gain, S-l-o-w-l-y start to delete foods that really are not important to you, particularly processed foods.
I've lost 70lbs. in the last 6 years but my main exercise is lifting weights so I don't try to drop more than a half a pound to 1lb. per month while maintaining strength.
Without your 2nd amendment rights you have no 1st amendment rights.

I stay below 1000 net calories a day and have all but a handful of times over the last 4 months.
Dude, that's crazy. First things first, you need to set a goal besides just losing weight. How much weight, how quick, etc. You say you want to lose weight but not all weight is the same. Most people want to lose weight but don't want to lose muscle, they want to lose fat, big difference. Yeah a 1000 calorie diet will definitely get weight off of you (that's starvation calories), fat as well as hard earned muscle. Personally I don't care to look like Olive Oil from Popeye and suspect that you don't either. Here's what you need to do. First off eat 5-6 times a day every 3-4 hours. This will increase your metabolism, which is a very good thing. Depending on what your current weight is you want to cut your calories about 15-20% from what your currently consuming. There are tons of diets out there, but diets refer to deprivation and you shouldn't be depriving yourself. You need to make the decision that this needs to be a lifestyle and not a fad diet. A ballpark figure for men would be 2100-2500 calories per day, lower number if your not very active higher number if your pretty active. I try and stay around 2000 calories a day personally. 400 calories per meal, 5 times a day plus working out and cardio. The percentages that work for me is 40% protein(1 gram of protein equals 4 calories), 35% carbs( 1gram of carbs equals 4 calories) and 25% fats(1 gram of fat equals 9 calories). You want to eat lean protein which would include chicken, turkey, fish, venison, whey protein, fat free mile, greek yogurt, Your carbs should include complex and simple carbs fruits, veggies, oatmeal, brown rice red potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc. Most of the fats will be consumed through your protein sources but also healthy fats like nuts, olives, fish oil tablets, etc. The biggest thing is you need to eat frequently and when your done eating you should be satisfied, not stuffed. Good luck to you and if you need any advise let me know. I'm a personal trainer among other things.
