I went to Jacksonville State right out of high school mostly because of a gal I was keen on. Partied my fanny off and was told to go home. Joined the U.S. Air Force and have a Career College of the Air Force associates degree. Well this hunting season come on back towards your old stomping grounds and go hunting wiht me. Don't you threaten me you cow farmer!! I'll show up on your door step. come on up the door is open, heck I even got some handicap shooting houses for your old zzz, and bring your son Trox with you. Him and my worker Jorge may talk about old times

Graduated from engineering school first, then went to dental school. I might have more debt than anyone on this site, so don't let "more school == more $" get to you. College and graduate school were both very challenging to me (just darn difficult), but both proved to be excellent experiences in my life. Both experiences trained me to think logically and continually learn. But it was the personal experiences (people/places/etc) that I learned the most from. Met folks from all over the world, traveled to South America, Asia, etc. Also lived in the Western US for a few years as a direct result of those educational experiences.
If you're happy doing what you're doing, and like the life experiences you've had and are having, don't worry about formal higher education at a local college. For me, continual learning is a must in my life to keep complacency & boredom down. I always try to keep learning about things I'm interested in--patient care, business, wildlife management, self sufficiency, etc--not just to get more pieces of paper. My goal has always been to never have to update a resume for someone else to critique. I'm 33 now, and just achieved that goal.

Went to trade school and got a degree in Welding. Worked as a coal miner full time working my way through junior college and got a degree in Business Management. Kept Working my way through UAB, in the mines, and got a Bachelors Degree in Marketing/Business Management. It took a while and it was hard work, working full time and going to school, but I finished and did so with no student debt.

I took my last class at The University of Alabama in May of 1994. I had about 20 hours remaining to finish my degree in Health Care Management. It took me 10 years to get those finished. When I finished my degree, I did not need it to do my job. However, I could not have the license to do the job I have now without the degree I earned. It paid off for me.
O God, you are my God; early will I seek you. Psalm 63:1
