This is what concerns me right now. If it can fly under the radar and be hidden in a hangar then it can be loaded with some sort of crude nuclear device and flown back under that radar to a given target. Or maybe my tin hat is on a little tight this evening.

If cell phone calls are still ringing, can they not locate the pings of the cell phones?

Just because it rings on the end of the caller, doesn't necessarily mean the receiving phone is actually ringing...or so I've been told.

This is true. A ring generator is what you hear when you call somebody, not their phone actually ringing.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

The transponder has to be in reach of the crew so that they can enter assigned "squawk" codes given to them by ATC. These codes help to identify the aircraft and helps with handling. In the event of hijacking, the code 7700 is entered to silently alert ATC of such event. Most airlines file IFR flight plans that require a specific code that is dialed into the transponder. VFR flights squawk 1200. When 1200 shows up on the radar screen, ATC automatically knows it is a VFR flight and not necessarily on a "flight plan". One must be able to turn it on/off incase of malfunction or to limit load on avionics. Now, it is common knowledge that 7700 means hijack aircraft. They teach this in private pilot classes so if the hijackers know "anything" about flying, they would have the crew to turn off the transponder so they could not enter the 7700 codes or another," mayday type" transponder code.

Why don't they have some kind of epirb in addition to the other things that will automatically go off sending a signal to satellites if they go down. It could be out of reach of anyone in the plane. I suspect the pilots were up to something in this case.

that would be the elt.emergency locator transponder that is activated by g force and is picked up within three seconds of activation.

That doesn't make sense, the article says it's southeast of where the plane took off from but all the other news sources are saying that it took a 90 degree turn left and went across Malaysia. Putting it northwest of where it started.
