I realize they're dealing with some countries with little to no electronics gizmos and readily available output to the world or miles and miles of open ocean.
But even if they were flying under the radar, there are no other planes, giant container-type ships or anyone in any of the "stan" countries or India or anywhere who saw this plane? Not a single soul on land or water who - publicly - has come forth?
I think it's somewhere on the ground and the government is scrambling to find it. Durn sure is strange.

That's for a single data point. There were 13-14 data points. They have a good idea where it is within a few hundred miles but they can't pinpoint it.

...it continued to send out hourly pulses that were recorded by a satellite.
The last "ping" was sent out 7 hours and 31 minutes after the plane took off.
It placed the plane somewhere in a huge arc as far north as Kazakhstan in central Asia or far into the Southern Indian Ocean. How is that having "a good idea of where it is within a few hundred miles"? Sounds more like they have an idea of the arc it might have travelled, but have no clue as to whether it went north or south along an arc stretching several thousand miles.

It's not saying it travelled in an arc. The LAST ping was somewhere along that arc, either the northern arc or southern arc.
Why an arc? Because the signal strength of the data stream and/or the data time stamp tells them how far away from the satellite it was. That is nothing more than an equidistant line a set distance from the satellite. It is NOT a flight path.
7.5 hours of flight time, 6.5 of which were after losing contact. That's 12-13 data points that would each have an equidistant arc with a relative distance from the satellite. Interpolate the last known flight path (Malaysia) and cross those arcs and you'll get a general path +/- a couple hundred miles or so. They don't know when it stopped flying, only when the last ping was received. That means the last data point gives them at most 29 min of flight time, or about 250 miles of additional radius. Add in the arc uncertainty (200-300 miles) and they know withing a 500 or so mile radius of where that plane is. If it was over water, they would have visual conformation of debris.

Talking heads are saying there are two ELT emergency transponders on board. They are activated by high speed impact (crash). They have not been heard from. The salt water "pinger" is the one that sends out a small a justice sound to help locate it in salt water after activation.
Israel is on high alert and to hide this thing you need a lot of coordinated effort. I wouldn't be surprised if it was in Iran.

The mysterious turn that diverted the missing Malaysia Airlines flight off of its scheduled route to Beijing was programmed into a computer system on board, the New York Times reported Monday, meaning it was not executed manually by one of the pilots at the controls.
The revelation lends more credence to a theory by investigators searching for the jet that the Boeing 777 was deliberately diverted. The Times reports it is unclear if the change in course was reprogrammed before or after the plane took off, but the change was likely made by someone in the cockpit with knowledge of airplane systems.

No wonder the Israelis are nervous. The Satellite can tell at what angle the signal is received, but it cannot tell what direction. Check out the last known path of the airplane and where it intersects with the 40° arc for the satellite data. Tehran is almost directly on teh 40° azimuth. There is also a large runway that isn't a commercial strip right outside of Tehran on the WNW outskirts, which happens to be directly on that 40° azimuth line. All they'd have to do is cross India in a known commercial air traffic corridor while transmitting false transponder info. They could have easily changed the transponder identifier (air traffic tells the pilot/copilot what to set the squawk frequency to) before entering Indian airspace and masqueraded as a different commercial flight passing over their airspace into the Arabian Sea and into the Gulf of Oman. Once past the Indian Peninsula and out of their radar, simply switch off the transponder again and approach Iran from the coast, bypassing Pakistan. Once in radio contact with Iran, the two on board could guide them in via translation of commands. "Typical" Malaysian Air routes over India: The strip in Iran outside of Tehran is over 12,000 ft long, has hangars, and has no public terminal. Yes, it's a stretch, but if I were the Israelis, I would be very nervous too! Even the approach angle of the runway matches up with the last known heading of the plane, and the last known heading instersects that runway at the 40° line. Add to that the fact that there were TWO Iranian nationals on that plane using stolen passports. Creepy.

Since it was about 1 am and going West, it was always in the dark, so a visual would be unlikely. wrong, right?

My money is still on this plane being used for a future terror attack.
A plane that big nose dives into the water (which is like hitting concrete at those speeds) would leave a debris trail big enough to be spotted by now. I think them two Iranians will be key players in this before its said and done. I wouldn't trust an Iranian any more than I would turn my back on a pit bull.

So satellite images show possible debris southwest of Australia but this information has been known since Sun. 4 days ago. This is like a made for TV movie.

They always know more than what is revealed. X2 Everybody knows by now that they are not gonna find that plane in the ocean. Who would hijack a plane and crash into the ocean? No they take it to their camp or something, and prepare it for a terrorist attack

I think they ran into a covey of skeeter monkeys and sucked one up in the engine. I saw a skeeter monkey once while I was fishing up on gurley creek she a had a 12 pound p*ssy with a 2 pound hole I swear to god she did. They say there still a few coveys up around pinson. That's what I'm putting my money on.
We will burn that bridge when we get there
