My bet is that joker is in Iran or East Africa being loaded with stuff right now. Iran is probably backing the extremists doing it to attack Israel, but will maintain plausable deniability. I'm afraid it's about to get really ugly if that's true.

It takes a big hanger to hide a 777. So where could this plane be if it was stolen? Also, what do y'all think they did with all the passengers? Fish bait maybe? This is really strange.

Passengers are dead for sure and given enough time and planning anything can be made that can hide a plane. Even one as big as a 777.

There is also the possibility that it did crash because they were flying too low to evade radar, or someone took over the cockpit, and whatever they had planned can't be carried out now. I think the pilots were involved though.

The Times of Israel has just posted a story by Debra Kamin based on an interview with Isaac Yeffet, who was head of global security for Israel's flagship airline, El Al, that suggests Iran was involved with the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines flight 370.
Yeffet says that the pilot and co-pilot are unlikely suspects, and that the two Iranians who boarded with fake passports are the likeliest culprits. In addition, Yeffet says the flight likely made a landing, possibly in Bangladesh, and that the aircraft would eventually turn up, perhaps with passengers alive.
Adding that the captain in question, Zaharie Ahmad Shah, was known to be happily married and comfortably well-off, Yeffet said the profile simply does not fit. “From the United States to China to Japan, everybody is searching for this aircraft or piece of it. And there is no sign. So in my opinion, the aircraft was hijacked. And it was an excellent plan from the terrorists, to land in a place where they can hide the plane and no one can find it.”...
“One of my theories is that the airplane landed in Bangladesh. It could reach there, it’s very close to Afghanistan. It could have landed on airstrip there, and everybody on board is still alive. It could be done.”
Others are skeptical, of course, but the article cites at least one other expert who agrees the flight may have landed elsewhere.

IMHO, The best we can hope for at this point is a debris field to be found somewhere

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

We need to find the plane and if no one is alive we wait till they get ready to use it and blow it up before it gets off the ground. and then tell the country it is in to deal with the aftermath and next time these people want to hide an airplane to use as a weapon to think twice about it.

Yep but I doubt it. Someone took over the cockpit, secured it, climbed to 50,000 feet, cut the oxygen off to cabin, passangers died, dropped below 20,000, slowed air speed, dumped passangers into ocean, landed, plane will be used in a terriost attack in the not so distant future..

Plane actually climbed to 45k ft, (service limit is 41k), then dropped to 23k, before climbing back to 35k. Very strange

I think if it was in the water, our capabilities via satellite to scan the surface and via nuclear subs to listen for the distress beacon from the black boxes would hone in on it pretty quick. The fact that no trace can be found should be pretty sobering to the probability that the plane is on the ground somewhere.

"Fact that the plane is on the ground somewhere"? Let's not get too carried away. There is a decent chance the plane is on the ground somewhere, but it's far from a fact. The main problem in not locating the distress beacon or floating wreckage is that we really don't know where to look. The search circle covers a hefty percentage of the earth's surface. An airliner with 7 hours worth of fuel can cover a lot of ground in that time.

Let's not forget that the underwater locator beacon can only be heard up to 2 miles away...so it is truly a needle in a haystack, especially given that we don't even know which direction to look.

They know the signal strength of the last ping well enough to say that the plane was located XXX distance from the satellite. Since they know that singnal strength, it's pretty safe to say they would know the others, and therefore should be able to deduce a rough heading. I think the intelligence community know about where the plane went, and are scrambling to figure out exactly where it might be.

http://www.smh.com.au/world/missing-mala...0317-hvjlf.html

Quote:

...
The New Straits Times newspaper in Kuala Lumpur is quoting investigators as saying the “person who had control over the aircraft has a solid knowledge of avionics and navigation and left a clean track.”

It quotes investigation sources as confirming the plane flew low over Kelantan in peninsular Malaysia

...

The number of countries involved in the search for the plane has increased from 14 to 22 after new information revealed the plane’s last confirmed position was in one of two corridors, one stretching from the border of Central Asian countries Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to northern Thailand and a southern corridor stretching from Indonesia to the southern ocean.

Authorities in Kuala Lumpur insist they are giving no greater priority to either corridor and have appealed for countries to deploy more ships and planes to a vast expanse of water in the Indian Ocean west of Australia, where there is no land mass for thousands of square kilometres.

But it is understood investigators say it is more likely the plane is in the northern corridor where there are unstable governments, mountainous terrain and extremist groups.

...

Experts are trying to nail down precisely how far the plane could have flown with the fuel on board but sources say the plane would have been close to running out at the time it was recorded in raw satellite data at 8.11am after departing Kuala Lumpur airport at 12.31am.

Malaysia Airlines has confirmed that no additional fuel than normal was loaded on to the plane in Kuala Lumpur.

It had enough fuel for the almost six hour flight from Kuala Lumpur plus 45 minutes of fuel to spare in case of diversion to another airport.

Investigators are factoring in that plane would have burnt more fuel flying in the denser lower air.

Erratic manoeuvres would also have eaten into the fuel’s reserves.

...
