And out of 10 guys that hunt for a week at a plantation 3 will tag out! You must have gone to a Crappy lodge. If the guides didn't want people to kill deer they wouldn't be there long for sure. Plus the way a guide makes his money is by Tips an unhappy hunter won't tip. Our kill rate was in the 60% range which is pretty dang good for free range and 3 year old or better and the other 40% usually had the chance at bucks but would pass for bigger. And you made it our business when you posted for openings on a public forum so anybody and everybody has the right to reply how they see fit. And it is your place your rules I do Agree with that. TT, I dont know G2, Ivory Man or whatever this guy may be or anything about this Lowndes club other than this thread has been fun to follow. But I am going to have to call BS on your 60% success rate on 3 yr old and older bucks at a commercial operation. Thats not remotely possible. Let's say you have 7,500 acres of the best land in AL. If you run a modest group of 10 hunters twice a week (3 days hunts) for all 16 weeks of deer season that is 320 hunters (which is probably a low estimate if you have a 7500 acre operation). A 60% kill rate on bucks 3 yrs old or older would equate to 192 3 yr old or older bucks killed in a season. Not possible much less sustainable. You could have been close to 60% kill rate including doe harvest but your mature buck harvest was probably closer to a 20-25% success rate with a lot of 2 yr old 14" 8 points thrown in like most of the better lodges in AL.

Really I never mentioned the way I ran the Lodge. Here is how it was ran:
6500 Acres
5000 of which was hardwoods with Crop land mixture 3500 of which was on the Alabama river, the other half was 5 miles south of White hall with a mixture of cropland. The other 1500 was Cedar, pine, Hardwood about 10 down county road 17.
For hunting we only gun hunted in January and January only. Would run 6-8 people a day and most bookings we had were for 5 days to 7 days. I only ever had 2 groups that would do a 3 day hunt and they switched to a 5 day hunt. Plus we limited the number of bucks they could kill meaning 1 mature buck 3 years old or better and maybe a cull older buck if I had Pictures of him. and yes I would go through with them on how to age our deer.
Bow season our numbers for kills were lower of course but they had opportunity or saw a good one but out of range so I would have to say bow rate kill was in the 20% range. and not a lot of bow hunters anyways they always wanted to hunt there rut up north then come and hunt ours.
I didn't want to gun hunt the property from November to the End of January. One reason Pressure. The other I would let all the other joining property's shoot and run deer to me.
So next time just ask how we ran it and not just pull some numbers out of the air. By the way that was around 24-28 hunters for 6500 acres of land for January. Which at 60% is about 14.4 which is actually now that you remind me a little low so thank you.

What I gave is a typical business model for most of the commercial operations in AL. Sounds like a unique situation. How many total hunters would you run a year? You said there were not a lot of bowhunters.

A few more pages and this thread will come up as the first thing when you search lucky buck.hunting club. It is already the 5th listing. Time for another name change.

Orville Redenbacher would die from multiple orgasms if he ever stumbled across this site. I said earlier that I needed some popcorn. I was quickly informed that I didn't need any and it was none of my b usiness. I think my need for popcorn is my business.....now I want more after Clem's comment.

Gun hunts would be $600 a day bow was $350 a day and Turkey was $350 a day. Everything included with Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner one of which would be Steak dinner. Bow was with mostly Hunters from Outdoor Company's coming down. Did have 1 group of bow hunter's from Georgia to come every year and A local Alabama group that would come and one group would be from Michigan. The rest was Outdoor company's sending there people on bow hunts.
Total hunters for gun would be Max of 32 hunters for January
Bow hunters never kept Track. Bow hunters I would let thin out my doe herd if they wanted. Killing a mature buck with a bow as we all know can be hard but they would strike every now and then.

Sounds like a great deal and great situation from a hunter's perspective. Low pressure and very reasonable rates. Cant ask for more than that. From a business perspective, by the time you paid the lease, food costs, help, planting, fuel, insurance, electricity, repairs to equipment and lodge, payroll etc, it probably wasnt making much in the way of profit unless you were running it for a private landowner and it was in some way subsidized. Were you able to turn any profit at all at those daily rates while keeping the number of hunters that low? I know we've derailed the thread but Ivory man needs the publicity. ha ha

The club doesn't have one that's an older club, read the post why don't you stop acting like an ass? I asked a simple question because I wanted to learn more about the club. you are correct, if I would have read thru all of yours and ivory mans bullshit I would have known you didn't have a site. you could have just as easily have said that you don't have one.

Search "One Stand Wonder Club"... I figure that would be a good website name since all their success comes from one stand....and one mouth...
