That's a sign of lack of confidence in the little gun. Give it another couple more seasons and you will eventually mothball the cannon, except for occasional sentimental excursion because you feel guilty for abandoning it. But you'll get over that soon enough also.

But I don't know what's wrong with shooting through a sapling. Here's a couple of saplings that were in the way of the good stuff, but the turkeys died anyway....
