80's were the best. Crap all of my kids have Def Leppard, Journey, BonJovi, Joan Jett and tons of other 80's groups on thier ipods. My wife and I get a kick out of the fact that our 17 year old daughter and all her friends believe that they "discovered" Journey about 3 years ago.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Call me nuts but I was up to my neck into all the 80's music. Yeah, I liked Billy Idol (my first ever concert), INXS (seen em 3x) The Cure, Journey, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran (saw them in Los Angles once), Flock of Seagulls, and dangit, I even got into Prince and Michael Jackson (who didn't have the Thriller cassette tape?). I even went a little punk with X and Black Flag and The Clash. A few other honorable mentions: Robert Palmer, Van Halen (with David Lee Roth), Adam Ant (Desperate, But Not Serious was his best song.)
My favorites were Rush (saw em 5x), U2 (seen em 3x), and the The Police (saw em once). My all time fav was (is) Led Zeppelin. Saw Robert plant 3x solo and he and Jimmy Page together twice.
Ahhh...The 80's. Reagan in the White House. MTV had 24 hour music videos. No bills. Miller Lite came in a white can, and the music. And that was also the decade I killed my first turkey. It was just a perfect season in time for me.

U2 was in Atlanta on my oldest son's 15th birthday back in 2009. We went and he was rocking as much as I was! Now that was a trip! Dr. B

ummmm miller lite comes in a white can again doc Yep I had some the other night just because it was back in the can it should have always been in. PascalBD Thank you for not posting Kharma Chameleon. I can remember where I was when they came on the radio and announced Metallica was coming to B-ham on the And Justice for All tour. I counted the days till that one.

Dang yall are making me feel my age. To me music about died in 1979. 95 percent of what I listened to from then on was on a country station. Now 90% of it is crap too. I did have a girl ask me one time at Camelot Music if I had ever heard of a band called Lynyrd Skynyrd. She was like 19.

I'm impressed that Black Flag got a mention out of you Doc. Ain't nothing wrong with the Plant and Page stuff either. But "nuts" is approaching the outer parameters of a civilized word to use describing how you "used to be into Depeche Mode"....

I remember going to the Montgomery Speedway to see Leon Russell, Pure Prairie League, Mother's Finest and Molly Hatchet...12 hours of music for $12. LOL!
