I sometime believe I am reading a bunch of middle school kids post ... I would be ashamed to let my children read what you guys post. Its no wonder hunting clubs are so screwed up with the immature behavior from hunters...... Is there an adult in the room....

Old school hunters (age anyway) are the ones that usually walk in on me that I have the most trouble with because since they been hunting that piece of land for 40+ years no one else should hunt it. As I see it public land is public and it's like fishing don't move in on someone and if you do back out and go deeper in the woods. As far as people getting shot that's the fault of a unethical hunter not being sure of his target and pulling the trigger anyways. Be sure of your target and hunt on. Even go as far to pull up as we were all discussing were everyone was going and just take off so noone would get HIS spot. . Dang man.... He would have a bad day and a noisy shadow all morning if that was pulled on me....

As to what our young wipper snapper attitude I ask my buddies to come out and check out some great new hunting spots. Hell look at dueces avatar. I found a great spot while turkey hunting for deer. I asked him if he wanted to go and see if it was any good. First day hunting he shoots that Brute. It took us till 9 pm to drag that joker 2 miles. This was on public land. I don't know who was more excited him or me.

Heck yeah that's awesome. I bet they won't be far. A few that we have been getting on have stayed pretty close to there general area. I think the hens are helping out a lot with that.

Try to spell it right..or if thats too challenging just cut and paste where I typed it.
To do that..pull your mouse across the words..and they will be highlighted. Then..left klik on them.
How ironic. I'm just funning with you outdoor obsession, don't go ALL CAPS on me. Just trying to lighten the mood a bit. We all like hunting turkeys, so we have that going for us....

It won't be you! I've come to one conclusion if somebody don't hunt the way you do their in the wrong. I've met more friends and hunting buddies while hunting public land than I ever had on a lease. You need to give guys a little more credit there are some really good guys out there. They ain't all know it alls like yourself. Yes mistakes are made but you live learn and make friends. I have been walked in on many times and have gotten down and just talked to guys to see how their season has been going. People like you give other hunters a bad name. Get out there make some friends and enjoy your time in the woods. LOL...really? I give hunters a bad name by NOT parking where they are and going to a different spot? If someone doesnt hunt the way i do they are wrong? By following the rules of public land hunting? Yeah..if they arent following those rules..they probably are in the wrong. Im sure youve met lots of folks..heck..they have to wait for you to move your truck before they can pull out! I know there are alot of good guys out there..I see their trucks parked down the ROAD when I hog hunt there..not behind me like you obviously do. Ive got lots of friends buddy, thanks though. I certainly dont meet them when I come out of the woods and they need me to move my truck so they can leave! I enjoy my time in the woods and spend a lot of time there. With good friends who hunt ethically and practice etiquette and dont think a turkey is worth acting like an arse over. If you think parking where someone else is on public land while turkey hunting is fine..and going after a turkey gobbling right there where they are parked..then to me your an idiot. Thats my opinion. Sorry.

I agree, the ONLY yes I said ONLY people I have encountered that did anything so called unethical was some old COLD HARD fellas at the wmas that thought they owned the place because they have been hunting there for 30 years. Even go as far to pull up as we were all discussing were everyone was going and just take off so noone would get HIS spot. That must be OLD SCHOOL SON Nope, thats being a complete jerk actually. Ive never done that in my life. Cant relate to anyone who hunts like that either. But as you guys say..thats public land hunting I guess! Heck..you said yourself a truck dont mean chit to you...and heck..theres 180,000 acres in there anyway..so what does it matter anyway. Oh..I see..Its one way when its you or your buddy there..and another if it is someone else. Ok..I get it.

SO IF I SEE A TRUCK PARKED AT A GATE THEN I CANT PARK THERE AS WELL.. FROM MY EXPERIENCE HUNTING PUBLIC LAND HUNTING THERE IS UPWARDS TO 1500-2000 ACRES BEHIND SOME OF THE GATES ON CAHABA RIVER WMA. IM SUPPOSED TO NOT HUNT THAT PART OF THE LAND THAT I PURCHASED A LICENSE TO HUNT JUST FOR THE SIMPLE FACT THAT THERE IS ONE OTHER TRUCK THERE.. DONT THINK SO. SOME OF THE LAND BEHIND THOSE GATES CAN ONLY BE ACCESSED FROM THAT ONE AND ONLY GATE

SOME OF THE LAND BEHIND THOSE GATES CAN ONLY BE ACCESSED FROM THAT ONE AND ONLY GATE we are talking about the bankhead..180,000 acres..not Cahaba. I understand that if it is the only road into an area it is different. There are over 50 miles of road in and through the bankhead. Noone needs to park where someone else is unless they are hunting with them.

If you go back through the posts youll actually see that the majority of people do drive on to the next spot if someone is parked at one. But I guess some people just dont...and they wont ever change. I know that I wont ever park where someone else is and go in thats for sure.

Im done here, as I can easily see that some people really dont care about anything but themselves and getting that turkey. Sort of like pissing into the wind here.
One thing for sure..It sure makes me happy that I own my own land and hunt a private club, and that I only hog hunt on the Bankhead. I rather not hunt then deal with all that BS.
Makes me realize how lucky I am to have the hunting I have for both deer and turkey as well.
I was getting ready to hunt the bankhead with a friend from here...but sounds like a freaking goat roping over there..so Ill just stay home instead and sleep in. Not worth the hassle I believe.

And believe me I have a fee hog hunters come through there as well that don't even know they are on private property till I point it out.

Best to sleep in. Remember you don't hunt public.
