When I first started hunting public land I ran into a situation. I took my wife hunting where I had heard a bird the week before. We were there on a dead end road and road and checked the whole road before stopping the truck. It gets daylight and several turkeys start gobbling and we head to the closest back up the rd a couple hundred yds. We walk 100 yds around the bend from where we parked and two old men came in and parked behind us. We talked to them and they told us to go to any bird we wanted they were sorry they didn't check the rd before stopping. One of the older gentleman was using a cane and had one leg. We told them to hunt the turkeys that were close to the rd and we would walk to the bird in the back across the swamp. There are right ways and wrong ways to handle every situation.


Man..now that is the way to be right there buddy! Sounds like old school..met older school..and all was good!
