You've typed a lot about what you thought of me on here on this subject so I figured I'd let you tell me how you feel. You seemed pretty torn up about this. Even after me and Jdawg talked it out and planned a hunt together.

Yea...and I applaud you for that. Nice move. I had pmmed with Jdawg about it.
I typed alot about public land hunting etiquette. Not about you. If you took it that way ...so be it.
But you obviously dont know me or much about me.
I gave you examples of not only the UNWRITTEN rules of public land etiquette...but the written rules. You stated you wouldnt do something like that again.
I took you at your word. Then you started to try to use me as a butt of your joke. I didnt see the humor in it.
I told you that if it was me..Id have been waiting to tell you what I thought...just like I told the kid who came crawling into my set up on the bankhead..the last time I hunted there.
You seemed to take it as threat..it wasnt ..it was the truth. Id have been waiting there to tell you just what I thought.

pm number 2.) wow? now Im threatening you? I said Id be there to tell you what I thought. Do you know anything about me?

I'm sorry outdoor but keep in mind at all times when you hunt public land some kid or man could be in there no matter where your parked. There are a lot of areas where the roads loop around, somebody can come in just the other side. Don't get to torn up on them turkeys look past your target before you shoot. Words of wisdom to live by.

I've had a lot of people walk in on me but I have never had my gun pointed in some kids face. Turkey ain't that important to me I will make sure I know what I'm shooting at before my finger goes on that trigger. Think twice man.

If you saw I posted about 3 people who I knew got shot turkey hunting. All were on public land. One was 16 years old and almost blinded. I take it seriously...the safety aspect.
The 16 year old was a son of my good friends and I was there when it happened. We all had 2 way radios. I got to HEAR the damn boy screaming for us to help him as he couldnt even see to walk out of the woods. Excuse me If i dont see any humor in the subject.
Luckily he can still see but has limited vision in one eye and still has pock mark type scars on his face from a load of number 4 shot. I was there with his dad to help carry him out of the woods. It was not fun. I was also there with his dad when he pulled up to the Warden who had seen the guy running from the woods and heard our calls on the two ways, and stpopped the guy. I was also there trying to pull said father off the POS with the warden as he was stomping the guy who RAN and left his son bleeding and screaming in the dirt's arse into a mudhole! So yes...I take it seriously. I have stated it is my pet peeve...because it is.

Think twice man. when that gobbler had been right there gobblin 5 minutes earlier and you hear something coming thru the leaves about to pop up at 40 yards or less..you get ready. I did. And when I saw it was some stupid kid..believe me..all I could think about was my friends son..and I dont turkey hunt public land any more!

I don't usually hunt where other vehicles are parked unless I know who it is and where they are, but I don't care if another hunter walks in on me they have just as much rights to the land as I do and if I was bothered by it I would join a club or buy more land. Most of the time I make a new friend and it's good to know a lot of hunters especially if you need a hand in the woods. I bet a quarter of the vehicles in Bankhead are left there to keep others out, I have a lot of family that does this and know of many others it's a common practice. no offense but to me thats as unethical or poor etiquette as parking and getting out where someone else already is. Hence again..the problem with public land hunting. No etiquette or respect. Why do you think they leave their trucks? I would guess so noone else would hunt there. Thats like putting a pin in a hunting club sign out board if youre not going there. Any club Ive been in..it gets you kicked out immediately.

Might be the best you seem a little to emotional to be out there tromping around. I will still be out there even though I have options to hunt private as well love the challenge and ( DANGER) that goes with it

Its called a COMPARISION. You're trying to compare apples to oranges. The way you try to explain it makes people believe you think that if a vehicle is left unattended at a spot that they are not actually hunting, they shouldn't be allowed to hunt there anymore. This is public land not private land! If you don't like it go lease your own land. Oh wait....you have already stated that you don't hunt public land at least 575 times....

Might be the best you seem a little to emotional to be out there tromping around. I will still be out there even though I have options to hunt private as well love the challenge and ( DANGER) that goes with it Emotional? I dont hunt public land because of people with no etiquete or respect. Im about as UNEMOTIONAL of a guy as youll ever meet. Most people think Im rather a cold and somewhat hard man. I hunt private clubs, with respectful members who pratice proper etiquette. We all get a long too...and help each other when needed. We pin the board where we are actually going to be...and dont go where other people are. Its safe..and fun..and as you can see by my 5 tagged birds..very productive. Good luck to you on the bankhead. I hunt hogs there as well...never have any problems. But turkeys ...sometimes people just have to go to that gobbling bird...and it can create problems so I dont turkey hunt there. Sorry if I believe in and follow proper public land hunting etiquette. If everyone did there would be NO problems..NOR this thread.
