I have a Minn Kota hand control because I am in the same situation you are (not a lot of room up front). Also, I use the boat for hunting, and I find that a hand control is easier to use when picking up decoys. I really like it. The only thing I need to get is a handle extension, because I do have to bend over when standing on the front. With the extension I can angle the handle up and be good.
