Keep your bow in hand and stand as much as possible. Bow hangers and comfortable stands cause more missed shots than anything else. X3

Keep your bow in hand and stand as much as possible. Bet it's hard to eat with just one hand and standing up.

To each his own, but I don't hold my bow anymore - however, I do stand 90% of the time. I have a tri-fold ez-hanger and it has enough length to put the bow right in front of me. Minimal movement to get the bow and doesn't fatigue hand and arms. I've really been in a groove with this setup. If I'm sitting down and my bow is in my hand, it's probably horizontal in my lab and it takes a while to move your bow from horizontal to vertical without being detected. If it's in one of those tri-fold ez-hangers, it's vertical and easily can be in short reach with very little movement.

If a large group of old does are within 100 yards, you are screwed. They can see, hear, smell you twitch your toes inside your boots. I've derailed the caboose on a many of old doe trains.

I used to sit with my bow laying across my lap all the time. Since my back surgery sitting very long with the weight of the bow on my legs kills my lower back. So this past season I started using one of the Realtree EZ hangers. I didn't have any issues retrieving my bow for a shot all season. Plus, since I keep it hanging now, I leave my quiver on now.

3) Calm yourself down and talk to yourself step by step on what to do next. (still hard for me). 4.). NEVER look at the horns when dialing it in....make sure it's a shooter well before he's in range.....focus on the body.....

I prefer to shoot sitting down if at all possible. I had to stand and shoot 2 of the six deer I killed with my bow last year. I feel more comfortable shooting them while sitting for some reason.
I always use an EZhanger to hang my bow on.
I change the blades on my broadhead every time I kill a deer with them.
I use my rangefinder as soon as I get in the tree to range my surroundings but I keep it real close at hand just in case I am unsure when a deer steps out.
I keep a constant check on the wind direction.
