One of the call makers I follow on book of faces just posted the NWTF donated 20 million dollars to the Harris Campaign. I can't find any information on it, but if true they are freaking idiots!!! If it is true, I hope they are boycotted to the point they go under for being stupid!!

Yeah - that agreement slides a “non-profit” further in bed with corrupt government money slinging. And surprise, surprise - under this administration. But we’ve all know how woke and out of touch NWTF has become. Some of us saw this a while ago.

Don’t know whether they made the massive campaign donation but that article is 100% true. It’s a USDA press release. NWTF got $50 mil.

I don’t put anything past the Dems with regard to giving money to a NFP entity then that entity funneling it back as a campaign contribution. The Dems wrote the book, and invented the practice, on doing it. Did the NWTF get sucked into it? Remains to be seen but they dang sure aren’t going to openly admit it for sure. Someone needs to find out for sure though.

There’s definitely something fishy about the 50 million dollar grant that was given to the NWTF by the USDA.
Based on the information in the press release, the US Forest Service and several other government agencies are already responsible for doing the type of work that the money is supposed to be used to implement.
If they’re going to give the NWTF taxpayer money to do the work, the other agencies should be abolished.
As it stands now, the taxpayers are paying multiple entities to do the same work.
The worst part is that most of the money will be stolen or wasted and the wildlife/ habitat will see a minimal improvement.

I used to work for NWTF. There’s nothing fishy about the government funding for them to contract forest improvements on federal lands. The government awards the money and the NWTF uses it to leverage additional funds from other sources, stimulate local business through contracts, and improve habitat on the ground.

Typically the NWTF works off multiple funding sources for habitat projects. They rely on partners, so when one pledges an amount they use that as leverage to approach other partners for additional funding for said project until they reach their goal. Most of the USFS projects in the south are timber sales that they end up putting right back into the forests, with additional funding, where they hire local contractors to complete the projects. Let’s say they want to do a pre commercial thin and prescribed fire in two years. They’ll hire local businesses to complete those projects. It helps the critters, helps the USFS by maintaining a healthier forest, and helps the local economy.
