I am looking into going on an out of state hunt next year with my son and a few buddy’s. We are looking at going to Ohio, Indiana, or Wisconsin. Have any of you guys been to an outfitter in any of these states and had a great experience or know anyone who has? Anyone had bad experiences and ones we need to stay away from.

I know a KS outfitter that has 2 openings for Nov 2-6 2026. That’s the week I’ll be out there with him. But you a point this April and draw a tag the next.

Just curious, do you put in fora tag and hope you get one and then go for the outfitters a year or two later or book the outfitters a couple years out and hope you get a tag or is getting a tag an issue? I comparing it to the SOA in bama, have no desire to go out of state to hunt, just curious about the process yall use on these adventures

Kansas would be my suggestion. If you are looking for archery or rifle I can probably squeeze y’all in for 2025.

The tag system has gotten turned upside down over the last 6 years but I think it’s going to right itself. The word is the state is supposed to pass a vote on reinstating landowner tags. If that happens we will be back to 100% draw on tags. I’ve got nearly 20,000 acres and that will give me lots of land owner tags.

If the state doesn’t reinstate landowner tags; the success on drawing tags was about 75% this year.

A member at my camp is a member here at this outfitters.

It’s legit they have a good bit of property and they kill some good ones.

Missed a buck in the 150” range. He was coming in fast and I ranged a spot where I thought he would be standing. Guess I over shot that spot with the laser. Shot for 40, but he was much closer. Knocked hair off his back.

Weather was terrible. Two days the high hit 90, but still saw more deer in 5 days than I will see all season in AL.

Really? The 2 outfitters I know are still not booking anyone without points. Both of them only had about 40% draw success this year.

I’ve got ground in 3 different units so that helps.

Last year we were about 50% draw success.
