Just curious, do you put in fora tag and hope you get one and then go for the outfitters a year or two later or book the outfitters a couple years out and hope you get a tag or is getting a tag an issue? I comparing it to the SOA in bama, have no desire to go out of state to hunt, just curious about the process yall use on these adventures

Kansas would be my suggestion. If you are looking for archery or rifle I can probably squeeze y’all in for 2025.
The tag system has gotten turned upside down over the last 6 years but I think it’s going to right itself. The word is the state is supposed to pass a vote on reinstating landowner tags. If that happens we will be back to 100% draw on tags. I’ve got nearly 20,000 acres and that will give me lots of land owner tags.
If the state doesn’t reinstate landowner tags; the success on drawing tags was about 75% this year.

A member at my camp is a member here at this outfitters. It’s legit they have a good bit of property and they kill some good ones.

I know a KS outfitter that has 2 openings for Nov 2-6 2026. That’s the week I’ll be out there with him. But you a point this April and draw a tag the next. How did you do this year out there? Missed a buck in the 150” range. He was coming in fast and I ranged a spot where I thought he would be standing. Guess I over shot that spot with the laser. Shot for 40, but he was much closer. Knocked hair off his back. Weather was terrible. Two days the high hit 90, but still saw more deer in 5 days than I will see all season in AL.

I’ve got ground in 3 different units so that helps.
Last year we were about 50% draw success.
