Age and Goals change. I killed many times more deer per year when I was younger and always dreamed of killing big deer. I killed some decent, nice ones but no Book caliber bucks. Now that I'm older and shoot a lot less the last 3 years have turned around for me. In the last 3 years I've killed 3 bucks from 150" to a 176" Booner, all with a bow. Free Range mid-west deer. Then I also killed my Best Alabama buck at 140 and change. So its hard to say.

What I mean is that I’m looking for an inexpensive trailer option to get my 18yo son’s very old and inexpensive boat back and forth to the gulf. He doesn’t have the money for a new trailer of any material. The existing one was homemade and is rusted beyond repair. An old galvanized OR aluminum trailer in decent shape would work.

I remember thinking i would never catch a 7 pounder or bigger - fished every day it seemed like. Caught 7 pounder at 19 and mounted it. Many years later i discovered the huge advantage of an awesome private pond - and caught one 6 pounds r bigger every trip. 9 1/2 was biggest and caught multiple of those. Lost lot of my passion for it over the years

I talked to a friend of mine in Lauderdale County this week about this very subject. He told me the subdivision he lived in had a feeder in every backyard. Although it is illegal, they are all feeding the deer year round. They are basically yard ornaments that walk from lot to lot. He said it is beyond belief how big some of the deer have become. He also said if anyone killed one of the deer, the killer was likely to be killed by the residents. They even have some of the good ones named. This is why gw don’t write feeding tickets in lauderdale county . He know he would have write the rich ol ladies in the rich subdivisions in Florence tickets also . Indian Springs is where most big ones live . I’ve seen pics . Tells you right there everything you need to know about CWD and how it is a buncha BS just like Covid was. if it is important enough to only ban(and enforce) people feeding deer on hunting clubs, and not in backyards. then it is not an important issue. Makes about as much sense as having to wear a mask when you walk into a restaurant but can take it off at your table. Yep it’s all bullshitt and fear tactics
