Well I had another good morning today. Made my first corner this morning and saw about 7 gobblers standing in the road looking at me about 100 yards ahead, well about 250 yards beyond them I could see this old boy in the trap. Another nice male. Caught him on a dirt hole set.

I checked a few more traps and had a big coon in one of my coil springs. I loaded him up and headed to my next few traps. As I was nearing the bean field where I doubled on coyotes yesterday I approached an intersection where several roads converge coming out of the woods and into the bean field. I set a couple traps there the other day which hadn't been worked by anything yet. But as I entered the field I saw a heck of a site as there were about 12 jakes all standing around and taunting this nice bobcat I caught on a pipe set as if they were telling him his days of chasing them were over!

After the cat I had one more coil spring to check and to my surprise I had a young male coyote in it. Was in a hurry and didn't get a picture of him in the trap. Checked a couple more dp's after that and had one last coon. Had another great morning this morning and hopefully the sets keep producing.

Thanks Hank! I'm sure it will slow down over the next couple days but I'm glad I've had some early success.

When it slows down you'll know you've put a big dent in the resident population! That's a good thing!

I kept looking at this thread, and I couldn't stand it any longer. I made 6 step down dirt hole sets this evening. Hopefully I'll have a pic or two within the week.

I was a good day. Finally got some dry land action.

First coyote. Smaller female, but still a prize. I have had this dirthole set for 3 weeks. I had to pull the set for a week and then on the remake I had a major problem with the hole being worked with little else disturbed. I set a camera 3 days ago and yesterday morning the hole was disturbed again, but no video of the culprit. I reset and finally got a hit. Got the catch on video and all. The rest of the videos have confirmed the notion that you can't have enough swivels. grin

Congrats fellas! Y'all are wearing them out. I still haven't had time to even run any traps yet.
