What is your view on hunting in the rain? My next 2 off days are the 24th and the 25th It looks like its gonna be raining both of those days. But I want to go.

I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

Hunt , killed my biggest in a steady rain . Also they can not smell as good in the rain .. I don't pay as much attention to wind when it's raining

I saw the biggest buck of the year last year while hunting in the rain, and it was raining pretty hard at the time, but it was during the rut or I probably wouldn't have braved the weather...

This pic was taken not long before a very mature buck ran a doe across the back of the plot in this pic. Unfortunately I wasn't able to capitalize on the moment (I missed). I killed a 75lb pig about a week later from the same stand, standing in almost the same spot where I shot at the buck. I'm blaming the water dripping out of the end of my barrel for the miss...It makes me feel better whether it's true or not grin

I like it because it reduces your scent and lower levels of light makes the deer more likely to ease out. Of course, if it is raining cats and dogs I try to avoid it.

I haven't had much luck in a hard rain. I've seen a few in a lite rain. Your scent settles making it tougher to get them into bow range. I've had more trouble with scent with these conditions than any other time.

I've had good luck hunting greenfields around noon on rainy days.

Season is only so long. I'd hate to get to June and regret not taking advantage of every opportunity I had to hunt because it was raining or hot. Apparently those two factors will be fairly prevalent this season thanks to El Nino. I can guarantee you it won't stop the bucks from chasing tail.

I don't hunt in the rain. The season is too long.

Killed my biggest in a drizzly rain too. Probably killed more deer while raining than not.

imo , depends on the rain.

seems to me the harder the rain the harder it is for the scent to disperse outward . just a , imo .
