I guess as time goes on you tend to reflect back more than to look forward. How quickly fifty years goes by. Why is it that with age everything fades except emotions? Hearing diminishes, eyesight weakens, muscles deteriorate, but feelings stay the same. I didn't stay long. Wasn't a whole lot to say. We both married, had kids, lived full and complete lives. Didn't live over five miles apart yet rarely saw each other. But when we did the emotions were there. I didn't stay long. Wasn't really a lot to say and it was starting to rain. Cemeteries in the rain are always depressing.

Dude, you are lurking. I'm in the same boat. Very happily married but don't need to put myself into that situation as it might lead to some confusion. I had one like that in my late teens. A Summer romance. She was visiting her Mom for the Summer. Moonlit walks on the beaches of Okaloosa Island every night after work. Passions ran high. Heavy petting.......errr. Where was I?

What's the song???
"He stopped loving her today"...Or, I guess in this case, "She stopped loving him today..." Exactly what I was thinking.
“Killing tomorrow’s trophies today.”

I wish you the best Roadkill. I think I will go back and reread more of your old stories. I hope you do find the time and energy to put your stories in a book.
