Y'all be safe. We aren't supposed to get anything but rain on the MS gulf coast so far.

I still think weather men are pathetic but I have a little different outlook now after that tornado hit Luverne the other day. It went right over our office so it was pretty intense for a minute or so. The weather experts did not even have us under a tornado warning when it hit. The warning was issued after it passed through town.

During the winter the weather guys catch it because they can't predict snow etc down here at all. As far as tornados I will listen they have that part down pretty good down here.

Hell, they don't call tornadoes any better than they predict snow!

I will say this, the storm prediction center has gotten a bit better over the last 10 years but they still can't ever seem to hit the nail on the head. When I was a kid, there were a few years where I saw a lot of tornadoes.....and they fascinated the hell out of me. I was heading to Birmingham up 219 and saw one way off in Shelby county. It wasn't a big storm but the entire cloud was wrapping around that funnel. My father seemed oblivious to it. We very well could have left earlier and possibly have driven through it on the way. Since that day I told myself I'll never be caught unaware again. Plus their very formation is intriguing. It is an awe most folks won't see, and that "cool" aspect is why these idiot Yankees that have the gift of gab take a few meteorology classes, get certified and go on TV and try to tell you how to seek shelter. Only way to not get hurt in a tornado is to not be in it's path. If it is your time though....

I'm not saying they will nail it every time but they are much better at predicting this type weather than winter weather. I bet yall will be listening to them tomorrow.

Every time I've been in Hattiesburg MS and they've said there would likel be a tornado, there's been a tornado.

It's pretty nasty in Oxford right now. Quarter size hail and strong wind. Looks like it's gonna do this off and on all day

I hope and pray that they are wrong and it is a non-event.
