Many, many years ago I saw a big jacked up Ford in Panama City, had a Tennessee "Ducks Unlimited" license plate that read "ikildux". I thought that was pretty clever, so I just changed it for deer hunting.

By the way, I tried to get an Alabama plate "ikilbux" and the State turned it down, said they will not put the word KILL (or other violent or offensive words) on a tag. True story. I have used it as a username on message boards, and it's my email address too.

he's asking about your "tag" line:

slap laugh My bad, Boo, my bad!

I stole that line off of a funny meme. Do you remember the cartoon from the 80's "He Man"? Any time he was fighting Skeletor he'd hold his sword above his head and yell, "By the power of Greyskull, I have the power!!!!" They were in a place called Eternia. In the meme Skeletor and He Man were riding in a car smoking weed like cool dudes, and the caption read "We were on the edge of Eternia when the power of Greyskull began to take hold" (you can Google that meme)

Nailed it. What it's really about is this generation acting like they're the best parents that this world has ever seen. Crap, even this site isn't immune from it. It's in everything from the supermom Facebook posts, every dad is a dang baseball coach, every set of parents is at the ball fields 7 nights a week until midnight (I know, it's all they talk about on every social media site known to man), and every dad on here being pretty obnoxious when their kid kills a deer (ain't really any different than the moms and their kids going back to school). My dad didn't have a season-long bragfest when I killed deer, I don't remember him even telling me "good job"(?). I still love hunting and my dad today. We are a kid-crazed society, they are the greatest idol this generation knows. We act like we're the best damn parents since mankind was created, yet this world is more full of $hit@$$ brat snowflakes than ever before. I don't know how we turned out so well with our pitiful parents who were married to their jobs and never even came to a football game, much less every practice(sarcasm).

A blind man could pick out 7 day a week baseball dad. He's usually in his under armor workout gear with his straight bill hat on, shaved head and no hair on his legs or arms. Then there's baseball junior. He's usually dressed like dad but has the Justin Bieber hair do going on and is wearing these paracord necklace like the major leaguers wear. And don't forget baseball mom. Nine out of ten times she's pretty hot and knows it. With her yoga pants and tank top. And you look at her and wonder. What in the hell does she see in baseball dad? Is it because he's more high maintenance than she is? I don't know.

I saw 2 little kids standing by the road in Haleyville this morning about 6:30 with their little outfits and backpacks on waiting for the bus....School doesn't start in Haleyville until tomorrow?

I think Mom got caught up in the Facebook whirlwind, seeing pics of kids in other areas and jumped the gum.

X 1000.

The clarity that Leroy provides us with regarding baseball dad's is astonishing. My only question is....

Leroy: what particular Under Armor workout gear do you prefer, do you shave or wax your arms and legs, and WHY do you refuse to bend your hat bill???

I just thought we know the same people but then thought about it and realized that is a whole culture in and of itself.

Definitely a culture in and of itself.Baseball dad as described in this thread has been around for a long time. Now we are a few generations in and often times these baseball dads were raised by baseball dads themselves, thus making them proto-baseball dads and ratcheting up the intensity with all of the "look at me!" outlets they have at their disposal.

The biggest baseball dad that I knew when growing up ended up offing himself while his all star boy was in late highschool and the reality that he wasn't going pro in anything became apparent. I think he was in some serious financial trouble as well, but you gotta think that all of time, effort, and intensity he put into supervising every waking second of his sons sports career that amounted to basically nothing contributed some.

My boy hates sports. Suits me. More time for us to go turn wrenches or be on tractors or whatever. He wants to take things apart and put it back together. He'll get further in life doing that than playing a stupid travel ball sport.

I think I saw Gomer's Face Book friend today in a car with "happy first day of school" on the back window. Had stuff written on the passenger side windows too, but I couldn't make it out. Prolly said something like " Go little Johnny, you're special".

I encountered a group of these people I described last year at a hotel I was staying in. They were in from Louisiana and playing in a spring baseball tournament. Every morning at breakfast the moms were on Facebook posting pictures and telling their friends the status of the previous day events at the ballpark. Then they would have a pep rally in the lobby before heading out. I kid you not! Then at night the baseball dads would gather in parking lot around a cooler of beer and get lit. The more lit they got the louder they were. Then they would start bitching at each other that if their son would have broke up that double play then they would have won by eleven instead of ten. Then baseball junior would come outside to see what baseball dad was up to then baseball dads would go full coaching moments on him under the parking lot lights. SMH

Mine doesn't hate sports but he'd rather fish, hunt, or just raise hell with other kids. He's got his own roll around tool box so he can leave my tools alone.

Staying in context with the thread, I know I often seem over the top 'anti baseball', but I'm not. It's just the crazed insanity of parents' involvement with it. It's the most obsessive, widespread shux I've ever seen. I have approaching 2,000 Facebook friends, and the dominant majority of what I see is baseball related, and it's the PARENTS, not the kids!

None of this would seem weird if it was the kids, but it just baffles the snot outta me how many adults are just jizzin' in their shorts over it 24/7/365??!!!!! Every woman I know posts 500 pictures each weekend about the latest tournament they were in, how many games, how it's 10:00PM and they're still in it!! Woohoo!!! Or dad-of-the-year has a daily thread about how excited he is for tonight's game, or how excited he is about going to Panama City this week for the tournament, and on and on and on....

Literally, I never see children post anything about it. I'm not under the impression the children don't like it and the parents are making them do it, I'm just bewildered about how much these adult parents are jizzin' their pants excited about it. They post in the winter about "OMG, I can't wait for Spring so I can see my Susie play softball" (and Susie is like in 4th grade)
