Here is something folks need to understand. When the front picks up the storm and turns it north, it is going to move north really fast like Opal did. If Irma makes landfall as a Cat4or5 it may still be a Cat 2 some 150 or more miles inland. Opal was still blowing 75-90mph winds over Montgomery and Auburn. Yep. Opal was a Cat 3 when it got to Montgomery.

If I was In Key West, FL, I would be packing My belongings and heading North as Fast as I could. It is all riding on what this Little Cool Front does and how Irma interacts with it Once it gets in the Gulf.

If I lived anywhere south of Orlando I'd probably be packed up and moving northwest for a while.
Everyone's always said "Gee, wonder what Miami would look like if a really badass strong hurricane hit just south of there, with the eastern wall whipping up and slamming into it?" We may find out.

I may call my insurance agent up this afternoon to go over some extra coverage options real quick. It may be worth an extra couple hundred a month through the end of November.
